"You made a bad decision." Virat read the text for the nth time and every time got angrier. How can Jinksy think it's a bad decision? He has no right, he thought, but all he wanted was to call him and tell him what really made him take this decision.
He got this text just after he had announced that he wouldn't be available for the rest of the test series after the first match. After all, he has to make time for his personal life. And how can Jinksy doubt his choice? So, in that mood, he started typing his reply.
"You won't understand Jinksy I am having trouble-." He typed but erased it. He can't send this type of sappy message. Moreover, he was angry, and he wanted to show it to him.
"That's my personal life. You don't have a say in it." And without thinking much, as usual, he sent it and laid down on his bed.
When Jinksy got a text at an unusual hour, he already guessed who it was from. He smiled and unlocked his phone, but his smile was replaced with a frown after reading the text. Though Jinks wanted to reply so many things to him, he knew what will go to his stupid best friend's heart directly, his silent treatment.
Virat, who was anxiously waiting for his reply to throw everything that was pent up in his heart at him, was slightly hurt when he didn't get one. Though he later understood that it was Jinksy, not Ro, he would never fight him. But he didn't know something else was in store for him tomorrow.
When the whole test team met to practice, as usual, Virat went to his best friend, but Jinks swiftly went in another direction. The whole day passed by Jinks trying to ignore Virat discreetly and Virat, already guessing that Jinksy was ignoring him (not because Virat was smart but because Jinks was a terrible actor).
When Virat realized that he had hurt his best friend, he promised to make it up to him by doing whatever it took. Therefore, Virat tried his best to win him back by doing things he likes.
"I got your breakfast Jinksy!" Virat said the following day when everyone was sitting at the dining table.
"It's a buffet, Virat. I can take mine by myself," Jinks replied politely and left the table to take his own food. Virat's face fell slightly, but he thought he deserved it after what he had said to him.
"I can take the plate, Virat." Blurted Jaddu to get extra food.
"It's not for you." Virat snarled at him and gave the plate to Jassi, who was having his coffee and left to his room to think of a new and better idea.
During the whole practice session, Virat praised all of Jinksy's shots (even though some of them were poor) so loudly that the coach has to stop him while Jinksy was grinning ear to ear whenever Virat was not looking at him.
The other teammates did understand that something was going on between their captain and vice-captain. However, the seniors were amused and refused to step between them, while the juniors were totally confused by their behaviors as it was unlike to see these two fight.
Virat continued his mannerisms for two days. He even told the chefs to cook Jinks's favorite food while Jinksy was determined to teach him a lesson this time by not giving up easily, so he totally ignored all his efforts; he refused to acknowledge whatever he said or did at all. But from the inside, he was so happy seeing his efforts and just wanted to hug him and talk to him.
On the evening of the second day, Virat knocked at Jinks's room at exactly 5 p.m. with a mug of hot coffee in his hand.
Jinks was about to smile and greet Virat but stopped just in time and creased his brows at him.
"What do you want?" He asked in a stern tone.
"Nothing, I am just here to give you, your coffee. I made it just the way you like it." Virat replied while grinning trying his best not to show his hurt from his tone; he was sure Jinks won't be able to say no this time and forgive him.
"I don't want to have it now," Jinksy replied sharply.
"But you always take your coffee at 5," Virat said desperately.
"Yeah, I do, but I don't want it from you." He replied and closed the door in Virat's face.
Jinks didn't realize that he was going over the line there, and Virat was really heartbroken now. Just then, Jad hollered.
"Can I have it?"
Virat gave it to him without saying a word and left. Jaddu smiled, seeing the coffee as he was already on his way to get one for himself, but just then, Jinks opened his door and snatched the mug from his hand.
"It's mine." He said, and before Jaddu could have reacted, he closed the door while Jad stood there stunned.
After a whole minute, Jaddu started laughing, his manic laugh which made Ash come out of his room next to Jinks'.
"What the hell, Jad! What happened to you?" He asked and shook Jad to make his stop.
"They are just idiots, you know." He replied, still chuckling.
"Who? Virat and Jinks?" Ash asked while leaning towards the wall.
"Yeah! Let's watch a movie." He replied without saying much and slung an arm around Ash, and pulled him towards his room while making Ash more confused.
In his, room Jinks was smiling like an idiot while drinking his coffee. Just one more day, he thought while taking another ship.
But the main problem started when Virat, the shot-tempered Kohli, with zero patience, took this to his heart and decided to have the same attitude towards Jinksy.

I don't know about anyone else, but I love Virat and Jinksy the most and always wanted to write something about them. So when I got this idea of Jinksy getting mad at Virat, I couldn't stop myself, and what would be a better time than the new year?
Happy New Year
A pair like chalk and cheese but the love, respect, and care they share is out of this world.
So it's totally dedicated to them and to all the other people who love them.
I hope you will enjoy it like I did while writing. It's a small short story, and I'll try to complete it as soon as possible.
