The next morning Jinks was ecstatic. He was so pleased to see his best friend trying to win him back; isn't that a big thing? He thought. For the first time, he wanted to brag about it, especially to Rohit but everyone knew he would never do it. And he thought to end the ignoring and bad behavior, the first thing Virat will do for him and will just hug him tightly.

When he reached the buffet table to get his breakfast, he was horrified to see all the food he didn't like as he was used to seeing his favorite dishes. When he took a seat in the middle of Pujji and Ash, his eyes were searching for a certain Virat Kohli. and at last, he found him at the corner table with all the juniors, laughing.

He would never admit it but it was kind of hard to see him so happy without him. It was like Virat could be happy with others, too; he does not need him anymore he had everyone now.

"Why the long face Jinksy?" Asked Jaddu while taking a seat on the other side of Ash.

"Don't call me Jinksy." He replied with a scowl and left the room without eating anything.

Which made Jaddu smile in satisfaction.

"Can you stop being cynical and tell us what's going on in that brain of yours? Do you know what's happening between them?" Ash asked, and Pujji nodded in agreement.

"I'm in a good mood right now, so I'll tell you both, but just give me a minute," Jad replied and ran to Virat, making Ash and Pujji groan in frustration.

"Hey, Virat," Jad said so sweetly, which made Virat pause midway through one of his humorous stories.

"Have you seen Jinks?" Jad asked, acting his best to look concerned.

"No! What happened?" Virat asked, now fully alert, looking at Jad's worried face as it was difficult to make Jaddu worried about anything at all.

"Nah, it's just that he was sitting with us in one moment, and the next he left without even eating anything," Jad replied and left swiftly to his table.

Virat was feeling guilty as it was he who ordered to cook these dishes, which Jinks hated. He was the reason why his best friend left without eating. But his stubborn self stopped him from banging Jinks's door with his favorite dishes and an apology.

"Are you alright? You totally zoned out there." Rahul's voice made him come out of his brain and heart's debate.

"Na, I'm fine, Rahuliya. You don't have to worry about me. Now you all go and start the practice. I'll meet you there in five minutes." He commanded, which made all the kids run towards the field except Rahul, who was looking at Virat warily.

"What?" Asked Virat matching his glance as well.

"Nothing, just don't do anything stupid," Rahul replied and left.

"I'm the elder brother, not you!" Virat yelled back at him, which went to deaf ears, but all the others present at that place looked at him like he has grown two heads or something.

Virat gave everyone his death glare which made everyone look away. Then he left toward his room.

"Can you tell us now?" Asked Pujji getting impatient.

"They are fighting," Jaddu said casually, shrugging his shoulders.

"Oh, shit, Sherlock, we didn't know it." Ash mocked Jaddu, saying the unmistakable, but Jaddu, as usual, didn't get the sarcasm and grinned brightly, taking it as a compliment.

"What he meant to say is that we all already know that they are fighting, which is quite strange as they have never ever fought. So, tell us something we don't know, and you know." Pujji said everything slowly as he does with his daughter when he is trying to make her understand something.

"Oh, that they both are just being stubborn. Both of them are acting like brothers from a Bollywood family movie who fought for the first time and don't want to say sorry first and don't know how to handle the situation." Jaddu stated as a matter of fact and started eating food from others' plates.

"Don't you guys think we should do something?" Pujji asked, concerned because he couldn't see both of them sad like this, and also, he was scared that it will affect the match.

"No, we shouldn't interfere. They have to solve it themselves." Ash replied and swatted Jaddu's hand when he was about to take his sweet from his plate.

"Ashley is right, though," Jaddu said and stole both of their sweets and ran away at full speed.

Virat sat on his bed angrily. He was so confused about what to do. He had made so many efforts to make Jinksy forgive him, but no that guy won't bulge. Can't he understand that he himself was going through a lot? He was supposed to help him, but no, he himself got angry.

He called Anushka, but his mind was somewhere else, and she sensed it as well.

"You know we can talk later now; you should take some rest." She ordered, giving him some time to think whatever he was thinking, and they ended the call after saying their goodbyes.

Virat didn't need time, all he needed was his best friend with him right now. So, reluctantly, he left his room and went to Ravi sir and requested him to send some food to Jinks's room, all his favorites, and left for practice.

*****

In his, room Jinks was pacing back and forth. His head was all over the place. He knew that he doesn't spend as much time with his best friends as he used to earlier and that they had got new friends now. He didn't hold as much place in their lives as he used to before losing his place in white-ball cricket.

He missed spending all his time with them. He missed joking around, their late-night long drives, their crazy antics, their karaoke sessions, knowing all their secrets, helping them prank others or being the victim, and not witnessing much of Virat and Rohit fights.

Everything has changed. He sometimes doesn't know their inside jokes. But, of course, he isn't the only one now who knows their secrets. He just feels so alone and left out sometimes.

Just then, there was a knock at his door. He kind of wished it to be Virat, but when he saw Ravi sir with food and lots of scolding for acting immature, he knew nothing could bring back the old days.
