One week later...
It was afternoon. Queen Clarion was busy taking care of a one week old Aurelia in her study. As she was in the middle of doing some paperwork, until her newborn daughter's cries filled the room again. "Shh...Calm down my little sunshine." Clarion said as she rocked her daughter in her arms. When she heard a knock on her door. "Come in." Clarion called then Fairy Mary entered.
"Mary! How nice to see you." Clarion greeted. "It's nice to see you too. Clarion are you alright? It looks like you haven't slept in days." Mary said. "I didn't sleep much because Aurelia keeps on crying every day and night." Clarion said then Aurelia cried harder.
"Shh..." Clarion said gently. "Here let me take her." Mary said then Clarion carefully placed Aurelia in Mary's arms. "She is beautiful, Ree." Mary said as she looked down on the tiny princess. She had golden brown hair, brown eyes, and beautiful golden butterfly wings.
"Thank you." Clarion smiled.
"I still cannot believe you made her with your magic. Why did you decided to do that?" Mary asked. "Not to be intruding. I know Pixie Hollow needed an heir. I just thought that perhaps it just happened so quickly. I didn't even know that you can make an heir with magic. I thought it has to be by blood, according to our history." Mary rambled. "Is there something you are not telling me?"
Clarion sighed. She knew that this is when she had to tell her friend.
"Mary, I need to tell you the truth. But please don't tell anyone else." Clarion said. Mary raised an eyebrow. "The truth?"
"It's quite a long story." Clarion looked at the skirt of her dress. "Well I have all day." Mary smiled.
______________________________________After a few moments of confession. Fairy Mary was still processing everything that happened.
"Wait, so Milori broke his wing?" Fairy Mary asked. "I'm so sorry, Ree."
Clarion gently nodded. "That is why we decided to keep our relationship a secret so that no other fairy will have the same fate." Clarion replied.
Mary gave a conforting smile. "It must be hard for you and your family."
"Yes, it really is. But it's for the best." Clarion gave a half smile.
"And there is another thing I need to tell you." Clarion said. "Aurelia is not only my daughter... She has a twin sister." She added.
At that point Mary was absolutely speechless, very so that Clarion had to wake her from her thoughts. "Mary? You alright?"
"Huh? Uh yes. Just give me a moment to take this all in. Tinkering teapots, Ree. Milori really did knock you up."
"Mary!" Clarion could feel her cheeks turning red.
"I'm just kidding." Mary laughed. "So where is she?"
"Milori and I decided that we will take one daughter to raise. At least we will not be completely alone as a family." Clarion said sadly. Mary placed a conforting hand on her friend's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Clarion. Don't worry I'll help you and little Aurelia." Mary said as she held the little princess' hand. "Thank you Mary. I know that I can count on you, as my best friend and all." Clarion smiled.
Then Aurelia squirmed before crying loudly again. "Goodness, has she always been this fussy?" Mary asked while trying to calm the newborn.
"Unfortunately. The healing fairies said it could be colic. It's when a baby cries frequently for a long period of time." Clarion explains while reaching out for her daughter. And giving her gentle strokes on her back. Slowly but surely Aurelia's cries slowed down until she was in a soft coo.
