paths in a drought

Stuck in a drought
Theres no water to escape in
To sink into, to swim in
No escape in the drought
Just dust for miles and two paths
They scare me because I dont know them
I dont know where they will lead
Two paths in a drought
No water for miles
Miles on end
When I think about it too much my mind dries up along with the earth
Quench my thirst if you please
But you do not, please
Sitting in suffering makes me stronger?
Is this all a test?
The paths that will lead me into a further state of existence
I realize
The water will not always be there for me
To escape in
To quench my thirst on my own
I wish I would have known, to be prepared
I never imagined my water would dry up so quickly
