The rest of this story will just be in 3rd person :)
I would like to say sorry for the looooong break but I had some shit going on and couldn't handle updating. everything's better now though so please enjoy this chapter :)Lucy sat down next to the boy with interesting hair and tried to avoid eye contact with him. She was rather captivated with him but she was to afraid to look up at him in fear for a negative reaction. On the other hand the boy had a different idea in mind, for this class was still waiting on the teacher to enter. The boy looked at her and stuck out his hand with a slight blush.
"Hiya, what's your name?" The boy spoke earnestly.
"Oh- uh hi! My names L-Lucy Heartfilia! What's your name?"
The Pinkette groaned internally as he remembered he hadn't introduced himself.
"I'm Natsu Dragneel, it's nice to meet you Lucy" The boy spoke with a slanted grin "looks like we are table mates this year!" The blonde tilted her head in confusion with a small frown, for this is the first she had heard of any arrangements. "The teacher for this class makes us partner up with our table mate," Natsu told her as it was evident that she was confused.
They continued their small talk while awaiting the teacher, Lucy had gathered that Natsu was very cheerful, compared to her sulky nature. He gathered that she was kind and sweet, but she was rather spacey like she was scared to look at him.
"Hey Luce, why won't you look at me?"
Lucy was a little surprised to hear a question like that because usually people excuse it for her intensely listening to them as she still answered. 'What an odd question,' she thought to herself.
"Uhh, well I struggle with focusing sometimes when talking to people, but I listen still, no matter what because people are worth listening to no matter the conversation." Lucy glanced at Natsu to see his intense but caring eyes staring at her, like he's trying to decipher the puzzle that she was.
"I can tell your really something else Lucy" he spoke softly , she was confused at what he meant by that. "Is that good or bad?" She questioned. He looked at her and smiled lightly "it's a good thing."
The teacher walked through the door finally, puffed and yearning for oxygen. Finally he looked up and gasped out a simple apology as he tried to catch his breathe and not giving an explanation.
"Alright, my name is Macao Conbolt, but you will just call me Macao," he sighed "but don't tell the other teachers I told you that" he said with a wink.
He wrote on the board the word 'Business' and elaborated on it.
Lucy zoned out as she kept glancing at Natsu, eventually giving up on trying to stay unnoticed she caught herself staring at him, he was rather handsome. Natsu had a slight tan on him, he had a defined jawline and a small scar on his neck, (A/N his scar is going to be caused by something different then what happened in the actual story) just below the scar was a white patterned scarf that sat loosely on his shoulders, she looked back up at his face again; seeing yet another scar on his jaw that somehow she failed to register earlier, she acknowledged his fine facial features and continued to ogle him.Natsu could feel eyes on him so he turned to realise the sensation was coming from the gorgeous girl that sat beside him, she realised she was caught ogling and blushed slightly.
Natsu looked at her and leaned into her ear and whispered " hmm staring are we now? Don't worry your not the only one who likes what they see." Natsu grinned as he leaned back and winked at her before turning back to the teachers lecture, leaving Lucy a flustered mess who was desperately trying to focus but was failing to.
The teacher cleared his throat and kept talking about an assessment that would last for the first term about creating a metaphorical business, reiterated to those who didn't know his little rule that they will be partnered with their table mate. After a long explanation The bell went excusing the students to recess. Natsu looked at Lucy and spoke to her "would you mind if I went to your place this afternoon for the assessment? My house is a little packed and my uncle and aunt are having a bunch of colleagues over for some business stuff and wants the house to themselves so they kicked me and my cousin out, she's going to her friends place but I have nowhere to go, is that alright with you?"
Lucy's heart dropped slightly but nodded and told him she'll walk with him to her house. As they left class to go to their lockers she was left deep in thought. She was afraid to let Natsu into her house for only the bedrooms and kitchen were furnished and the lounge room was still littered with boxes meaning there was nowhere to sit and talk downstairs, but that's not what bothered her the most, what bothered her was that it meant they'd have to go to her room that looked like a glorified hospital room with all kinds of equipment left behind by the doctor that visited her on saturdays and because all of the bars and the lift chair by her stairs to help if she wanted to go up and sleep but couldn't use her legs properly. Having Natsu see her room and lift is like having her naked body shown to the world, vulnerable and embarrassing. She continued to think of a solution for the rest of the day but coming up empty handed.
