"Run It Quan!" Lokka shouted as Marquan ran the ball down the field.
He was spinning around, stiff arming a player as he continued to run unstoppable.
"Yeah Boy!" Avery shouted as Marquan made the game winning touchdown.
He casually slid his arm around her shoulder staring at the field.
Lokka looked up smirking at him, "Boy you tried to pull that off so smooth." She giggled laying her head against him.
Avery chuckled, "I seen homeboy limpin' early. What happened?"
She burst into a fit of laughter, "He was doin' too much. So I shot him."
He pulled his arm back and looked at her, "You what?"
Lokka shrugged uninterested in talking about Dez, "I shot him."
Avery shook his head in disbelief. He let out a short laugh not taking her serious. "No you didn't."
Lokka nudged him playfully rolling her eyes, "Whatever."
They made their way onto the field to congratulate all the players. Avery didn't know any of them, but he was surprised at how many of them knew Lokka. They all greeted her respectfully while adverting their eyes. Avery thought it was weird that everybody spoke but nobody made eye contact with her. Those thoughts quickly dissipated when Lokka gently grabbed hold of his hand as she maneuvered them through the crowd cheering and talking about how well the game went.
"LoLo! Wassup!" Marquan cheesed, taking off his helmet. His adrenaline was still pumping as people walked passed patting his back making remarks about his touchdowns.
Lokka smiled big, releasing his hand to give Marquan a tight hug before returning to Avery.
"Wassup bruh. Marquan, my niggas just call me Quan though."
Avery stood behind Lokka, his arms dangling over her shoulders as his chin rested on the top of her head.
He lifted his head, throwing a nod his way, "Avery."
Marquan looked back and forth between him and Lokka as the silence became awkward. He tried to figure out why she was here with this boy instead of Dez.
"Man of the hour." A voice called out from behind them breaking the silence.
Avery turned his head and saw Dez walking towards them slightly limping across the grass as he pulled Lokka tighter pressing her back against his chest.
He watched with amusement while Dez glared daggers at him. Dez tore his eyes away from them and smiled at Marquan.
"Good game my dude." They dapped each other.
Marquan sucked his teeth trying not to smile, obviously liking the attention he was getting from everyone. "It's was aight, but wassup with the peg leg?"
Dez looked down at the bandage right under the side of his knee, that was visible because of his shorts. He didn't respond throwing a look at Lokka.
Marquan saw the exchanged looks cocking his head to the side, "Nigga.." He let out a hard laugh, "She finally shot your ass, didn't she?"
Marquan knew this wasn't the first time Lokka aimed a gun at Dez, but this time she actually pulled the trigger. He knew it would happen sooner or later with the way Dez kept playing with her emotions.
Avery's eyebrows furrowed together realizing she wasn't lying about shooting Dez. At least now he knew not to play her out, he never planned to but it was still good to know how she got down.
