"Not particularly any social gathering really," I also admitted. He exuded confidence and I was no match.

"Me as well actually." He chuckled. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. "Are you here with anyone?"

"Yeah actually I'm here with Breana Helders," I paused to gather my thoughts. "I don't know your name however," I tried my best to be smooth and to not second guess myself. I haven't even been on a date in at least a year. Owen was always there.

"I'm-," He was just about to speak when Breana came up to the bar and interrupted him.

"There you are." She then saw who I was talking to. "Oh you found Alex! Alex this is Kaia," I gave him a small smile and he gave a small smile back awkwardly. Not entirely amused with Breana's presence.

"Wait you're Alex?" I asked. He nodded. I recalled all of the things Breana had told me about him before.

"Yea, and Breana I fink Matt's looking for you," He turned to her and gestured back towards the living room. His accent was thicker than I had expected. I finished my vodka soda once Breana left and ordered another. To settle my nerves. Even though the noises in the room connected to ours prevented any silence, the silence between us was palpable. Not in the way I remembered it was with Owen, I couldn't place my finger on it.

ALEXS POV:

She was stunning. I needed to say something or else she'd leave, I just knew it.

"What do you do for work? I never heard Matt say anything about you. Look like you could be model honestleh," I sipped my beer to hide the fact I was nervous as hell.

She grinned at my compliment. That's all I wanted for now. I was trying my best to move on, maybe she was the one I could do it with. The thoughts of my ex imbued my mind usually. That's what caused most of my problems and well, previous drug use. She looked up from the floor and at me.

"Um no actually, I'm an interior designer and I work with mainly more famous clientele. Not in the modeling world," She laughed as if what I had said was implausible. I had an idea.

"Well I think you'd fit in," I paused. "Met enough models in me day to spot one," She seemed to not know how to respond. Was the last part was too far?

"Maybe you can help me with the studio here. I converted one of the guest bedrooms a while back and it still doesn't feel right," I tried to say as nonchalantly as I could to change the subject. She looked intrigued.

"Want to show me it?" She asked me. "My head is starting to disagree with this loud music,"

KAIAS POV:

"I don't see why not," He gave me a smile and finished off his beer. We both stood up and he led me out of the bar area down a hallway with doors on one side and a two windows looking out into the front yard.

"Are you recording anything currently?" I asked.

"Oh yeah me mate Miles and I just recorded most of an album that's been in the works. I'm always making new stuff too," He admitted. Opening the last door in the hallway, he held it for me and I walked in.
