How did I end up here?
All I wanted to do is to rise in this house-pet system to have an upper status and not to be looked down on, yet here I am being owned by this blonde.
I guess she noticed my distress and called out my name. I looked up at her with my normal scowl and responded with a rude "What?"
"Stop being so worried. I'm not going to do anything."
I scoffed, "Really?"
Meari yanked my housepet tag, causing me to come much closer towards her, "Look, I know what it feels like being in such a low status. You must have your reason to want to be at the top of the house-pet system. Trust me, I did too."
"Your point?" I raised an eyebrow.
"My point is: I won't treat you horribly like the other housepets."
What? Was she being serious? I've seen her treat the other housepets. What makes me so special? Was it pity? The way she said it sounded understanding.
To make sure, I asked, "Are you serious?"
She rolled her eyes before answering, "Of course, idiot. Come on, a friend of mine is waiting for me."
I guess this wasn't so bad...
