"Ouch!" I say as the cold snow seeps down my shirt. I turn around to see that Ron Weasley has thrown a snowball at me. "Oh you're gonna get it Ron!" I yell then kneel down in the snow collecting some snow in my glove covered hands trying my very hardest to form a ball like shape. Ron is already trying to run away from me but he struggles as his feet are sinking in the deep snow every step he takes. I get up and start to run towards him having the same struggle with the snow as he is. I throw the snowball as hard as I can and it hits the back of his uncovered neck. "Christ, Aspen!" He yells. "I knew I should have worn a scarf." He sighs while rubbing his neck that is now turning Red. "I told you to, but you never listen." I giggle then walk closer to Ron. He flinches thinking I'll throw another snowball at him. "Chill, Ron. I don't have any." "You're bloody scary, you know that?" Ron replies while relaxing his fence shoulders. "Thanks, I try."
"What's the matter with your neck, Ron" I hear a voice say. "Yeah, why's it as red as your hair." Says another voice "I guess the ginger is spreading." We both turn to the Fred and George walking up to Ron and I. George comes up to me giving me a hug while Fred slaps the back of Ron's neck. "Don't, Fred." I say sternly. "He's my brother, I can fuck with him whenever I want."
"You can't just hit your brother like that. You have to be nice to him. Who knows, you might need him in the future." I say defending my best friend. "Piss off, Aspen."I hate Fred.
"It's alright, I'm used to it" Ron tells me.
I hate when they pick on Ron. He's my best friend and I know he isn't very good at defending himself when he needs it. I just wish he would stand up for himself more often so I don't have to. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to be here for him but it gets tiring.
"Let's go back to my dorm, it's too cold out here" Ron suggests. "Yes please, we'll sit by the fire so your neck can warm up."
"Are you still coming to my place for Christmas." Ron asks me while grabbing George's scarf off of him. He clearly needs it more. "I sure hope not. I don't want her anywhere near me while I'm with my family" Fred says in a harsh tone. "Oh piss off, Fred" George says while shoving Fred's arm. "She's welcome whenever she wants. You have to remember she's best friends with Ron so she's basically part of the family now." George adds. "If she's there then I'll just stay here." Fred says. "Well then I guess I'm going to your place, Ron!" I smirk while looking at Fred. He gives me an evil stare, it's a cold stare that makes me shiver. My smirk drops from my face. Ron clears him throat and grabs my hand leading me back into the castle so we can go to his dorm. Once we get into the dorm we sit on the floor in front of the fire."You can't just act like that with Fred, Aspen you know this." Ron says seriously. "I know, I know, I just wanted to piss him off. You know I hate him and he hates me. Why does he have to be everywhere all the time?"
"I don't know he just shows up, it might be a new trick they learned."
"Most likely."
"You should probably start packing. We leave this weekend."
"Wait what say is it?"
"It's Sunday. We leave in 5 days. Please tell me you haven't forgotten already"
I completely forgot.
"No! Of course not! How could I ever!?"
"She definitely forgot" Fred says peaking his head into the door. I quickly pick up my text book and throw it at him. He catches it with one hand without flinching right before it hits his face. He takes a moment to examine the book then takes a step forward. He's leaning on the door way with one arm and holding my book in the other. He looks up at me making eye contact then looks back down at the book. He looks back up one more time keeping eye contact. My stomach turns. His jacket is off and he's wearing a black T-Shirt with the sleeves slightly rolled up tucked into some black dress pants and a black belt with black snow boots. On his arm by his Bicep you can see a black mark that looks sort of like a tattoo.
