I'm sorry this is very short chapter, I just really wanted to post and so here.

"I'm not flirting- I mean, it sounds like I'm being flirty but I actually... I'm just flabbergasted is all... like you seem nice! I'm not saying you aren't my type- I'm making a fool of myself." Sal stuttered, before tripping over his own foot.

Brian felt his heart swell. "It's just like... I'm probably weird I just... I know you from like... a dream really. I'm weird." Sal Vulcano was beautiful when he wasn't hooked up to tubes and needles and machines, Brian realized.

He also hadn't known he'd meet Sal here. He was gonna find Sal and it was probably gonna take forever but whatever god there was, just sitting up in heaven, gave the two of them a break and now, Sal stood right in front of him.

"Yeah, actually. Um, you're Sal. I know you." Brian felt his face flush because that sentence was stupid. And weird. Even himself wanted to shiver at how creepy that seemed. God someone please shoot me-

"Please tell me I'm not crazy and you saved me from the fire and that's how we know each other and we didn't actually meet some other way. Otherwise this would be awkward. Not like I wasn't awkward already- you aren't! I am, though. I'm awkward... and weird. Sorry."

Brian felt feelings. They were real and he was sober and so everything was so real and... Sal is still staring at him. He blushes. "Yeah actually. That would be awkward which guess what? It's not..." Brian slapped himself mentally. What the fuck is he saying?

"Cuz... I did. I saved you from the fire... which is cool cuz now we're meeting in person." Brian smiled awkwardly. What had Sal mentioned about the awkwardness? Cuz he felt awkward. And Sal looked very huggable at the moment.

Sal blushed and looked up at the ceiling as he toed the white tile under his feet with some very flashy shoes, which looked brand new. "Thank you." Sal said when he got the courage. He smiled. "Thank you for saving me. You risked your life for me... nobody has ever done something like that for me."

Brian took in Sal's appearance a little closer. He was much skinnier than the last time he'd seen him, from being sick and bed ridden in the hospital. His eyes looked tired and his smile was still brighter than the sun even so.

Sal was maybe a tiny little inch taller than him, but it was probably just the shoes.

Some burn scars peeked from the collar of his shirt, where Brian could imagine the flames that had ruined the skin there, and it made him shiver. Sal was lucky that his face was still intact. Even though Brian could feel it in his bones... he would love him anyway

That scared the shit out of Brian for a second. He'd just met the guy there was no loving him. But with those round hazel eyes gazing slightly down at him, he felt like his heart and brain were fist fighting.

Sal didn't skip a beat though, and he'd flung his arms around Brian's neck and hugged him so tight, his heart started to hammer in his throat. Oh god, oh god, oh god...

Sal smelled nice.

"Umm... do you like coffee? It's not as good as saving your life but I'd really like to um... I dunno... repay you somehow." Sal had said. Brian nodded.

"Okay, I'd love to. Here- have my number."

They exchanged numbers and Brian could feel his heart hammer in his chest.
