Broken wings, couldn't fly,
Couldn't move,down-and-out,
Lying down, hugging knees,
Sobbing,misty-eyed.
Trembling, scared,
Bruised, eager to be held,
Seeking courage,
Yet couldn't raise my head.
Heart beating, lifeless,
Prostrated, breathless,
It's rapidly consuming me,
Swallowed by this darkness inside me.
