Ashfur is one of my favourites! Why?
He just loved way too much. He was adaptable (see Cloudpaw and Ashpaw's friendship), he was kind (see Fernpaw's and Ashpaw's relationship), he was cunning and brave (see him in the Dangerous path), he was loyal, maybe a bit harsh (see Lionpaw), but he tried to train lionpaw like he needed to be trained.
As for Squirrel x Ash, I see it as a way better ship than Bramble x Squirrel. For Ashfur Squirrelflight was important.
He deserved to go to Starclan! He REALLY just loved too much (see his apprenticehood) and he didn't deserve the hate he got!
Also he had a great character
