A month passed by in a blink of an eye, my first high school spring was not so special, though I still bet it was for some people.
Watanabe-san asked out Daisuke-kun, they are a couple now, no one was really against them being together, some girls might be a little upset but it seemed to have not affecting them much, the rumors about Yui-san and Hinata-kun dating were also false, Kei-san herself confirmed it by asking Hinata-kun about it during one of PT classes.
The beginner period of Ray has also ended, he seems to have made friends with the Hinata group and hangs out with a them lot, I even saw them outside school at a playground, playing volleyball.
Not much happened in the first month of the new semester, except Ray joining us.
Just as I was closing my laptop after doing some school work, my little sister entered my room.
"Hey Sis." She said in a relatively low tone.
"What's up?" I asked, simultaneously turning around in my chair to face her.
Something was up, I can tell. She was still standing under the doorframe, and looking down at her feet.
'Did she accidently do something bad?' I think to myself, cause' that would be the same posture I would make if our roles were reversed (assuming if I did something bad accidently that is).
"So, our class teacher gave us assignment to do and paired two students up each other... well, you could say she let us choose the person we wanna pair up with." She continues in the same quite tone.
Wait. Did she not got paired up with someone? Don't tell me that. That would be absolutely heart breaking, if that's the case I am gonna have a word with her class teacher.
Still, I can't jump to conclusions, I let her continue.
"Uh-huh."
"So... I got paired up with Nakamura-kun."
'Thank God.' I think to myself, relived from inside, but I don't know what's the problem then, does she need my help? Is the assignment that difficult? I mean she and Nakamura-kun are both decent in studies.
"Do you need my help with the assignment?" I ask politely giving off a harmless smile, indicating, if she wants my help, I'll be happy to provide it.
"Oh, no no no! That's not I was asking, I was thinking maybe I could invite Nakamura-kun here, at our house... to—to work on the assignment that is!" she maintained her quite tone till the 'Inviting Nakamura-kun' part but then hurriedly gave a reason to why she wanted invite him, which I already knew and was quite obvious, but I guess she didn't wanted any misunderstandings so she cleared it up just in case.
She was asking me about this because both of our parents are working and they return late at night, thus it's mostly just me and her in the house.
I see nothing wrong with inviting Nakamura-kun at our house for a group activity. He is Sawako's younger brother, they have visited our house a number of times, he is a very sweet and well-mannered boy (unlike Sawako). I don't think there's even need for asking me about this if it's Nakamura-kun we are talking about.
"Sure, why not, you can invite him over anytime, after school." I say.
Hanako's face lit up, and the gloomy she had when she entered the room had completely vanished, was this that important for her?
She finally enters and sits down on the bed, and lets off a sigh of relief before speaking.
"With that aside, are you studying for your finals?" She asks, while changing the subject.
