My Dear Aphrodite.
Well...today was a strange day? Where should I even begin?
I guess it all started with a letter, from none other than Conan Collin Arthus! I believe he helped my parents with the start of their business a while ago. I've only met him a few times, the first time being on the opening ceremony of my parents first factory, though I was quite a bit younger back then. He always seemed like a bit of an odd fellow to me, but it seems like my parents are in his debt, in a way.
Still, I was surprised, when his letter arrived. I thought that maybe I read it wrong and it was addressed to one of my many siblings. I mean...I'm not exactly the most successful one, I just deliver letters...not that I don't like it of course, I love it dearly and I'm good at it! Making other people smile with my deliveries is the best thing I can imagine! I've even become a kind of symbol for the company! But still, I can't help but feel that my siblings are by far superior to me.
But, pushing those insecurities aside, I've talked to you about it too much I fear, a man did arrive at my doorstep. And what a man,I'll tell you, he's quite the giant! He introduced himself as Marc. Very obedient and has good manners, that one. But well, after packing some chocolates (you never know when the job calls), some stationery, and a change of clothes, I was already off, to an adventure!
I was not alone in the carriage, for there were five other people with me, who seemingly have been sent the same letter! Let me introduce them to you, to the best of my ability:· Earl Connor of Coventry: I was a bit sceptical about him at first. My family may be quite rich themselves, but as you know, my parents pride themselves on humility, and Earl Connor is anything but humble. He treats his dear servant Johann like a slave, he drinks much and well, I don't mind his company, but I wouldn't say I particularly enjoy it either.
· Dr.Marija Johanna Alexandrow: Her accent sounds quite Russian, I believe! It's hard to get a read on her, but she seems very easily excitable (quite like myself) and has an...uh intense...interest in doing surgeries or body modifications. Even if at the cost of another persons life or limbs. I don't know what to think about her.
· Detective Matthew McArson: He is quite a smart man indeed, very perceptive, cares about other human lives (as only other person in this party, I would claim) and well. He's quite overall an interesting person to be around so far. I enjoy watching his process and he listens to my ideas and thoughts. It's lovely.
· Dr. William Peanut: A biologist and or engineer I believe? He is definitely a person who has learned many a thing. A learned and curious man for sure. Since his thinking takes much energy, he seems to have taken a liking to eating maybe more than needed. But well, who can judge a man who can appreciate good food?
· William McArthur: A calm albeit easily frightened businessman. He is accompanied by his head of security, Maximillian. He seems like he does care about his employees wellbeing, not like...other people...and he generally seems a polite man. Why does he need a bodyguard, is he being hunted?
We had a lovely ride, with some subtle conversations, a bit of alcohol, and some banter. The Earl tried at the very start of the ride to impress our Dear Mrs.Doctor, but she quickly cut him off, to my amusement. The alcohol was reached around and I shared some chocolates. We arrived after a few hours, and let me say: The sky was quite lovely! As in: I could actually see the sky! Unless my family is gathered at our private estate out of town, I barely get to see it in all its glory. I missed it dearly.
Nonetheless! At our arrival we were met by Hans, another servant of sir Arthus. He told us the only rule: Do not go into theeast wing! (it has been closed since the death of Mr. Arthus wife Margareth.Dear me, a sadness befalls me each time I hear about the passing of love, mayshe rest in peace and watch over his heart). Of course this made me insanely curious but alas! Breakfast was waiting!
