----Fiona's P.O.V.----
I woke up, sun blinding me. I turned over and looked at the clock, since I was meeting my new boss at 9-
"EIGHT FORTY-THREE?!" I screamed at the clock. The alarm didn't go off. I groweled and ran out of bed. Kendall was still sleeping when I passed her. "Kendall! Wake up! We're late!"
"Are you kidding me?" She groaned from her bed. I stomped to my clothes box where I was throwing clothes to find a pencil skirt. Eventually, I found a black pencil skirt and a mint-green top. I got dressed, forgetting my tights. Sprinting towards the bathroom, Kendall ran into me, both of us falling back.
I jumped up and helped her as quickly as possible. When I got to the bathroom, I grabbed my toothbrush and almost-gone toothpaste. While brushing my teeth, I pinned my hair up into a messy-ish twisty bun. Kendall ran in, brushing the knots out of her hair. I smeared foundation across my cheek, trying to rub it in while Kendall elbowed me. I forgot about my mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow, and went all-natural.
Both of us ran back to the door, throwing on heels and grabbing the files we made the night before. Kendall and I ran out the door. I pulled out my phone and called my boss. We started running down the stairs.
"Fiona? Is this you?" A british-accented womanly voice filled my phone.
I rolled my eyes and answered, "Yes, it's me! We're a little behind, you see-" I started, but she interrupted me.
"No excuses, I'm at Penny's Pancake House, if you're not here in ten, I'm leaving!" She snapped, ending the call. It was 9:04, I called a cab and waited for it to stop.
Finally, when it did, Kendall and I hopped in, gasping. The driver asked, "So, where to?"
"Penny's-" I gasped, "Pancake House, step on it!"
The cab sped off, delaying my reaction of his speed. I rubbed my eyes and yawned slowly. Kendall was staring at her phone, smiling.
"Fiona!" She squealed, jumping a little in her seat.
I looked over, "Yes?"
She started to tear and said, "Harry just asked me! On a date! A date! A Harry Styles date!"
"Oh...that's awesome! You should come tonight!" I offered, not showing the hurt in my voice. Even though Zayn kind of asked me, I still liked Harry. Plus, I thought Niall asked her...Hm, she must be popular.
"I just asked, he said it'd be perfect! I'm so excited!" She screamed. I knew she was fan-girling...which was new for Kendall!
I sat back, smiling a little. I knew Zayn really liked me, so I relaxed and let the Harry thing go.
"We're here..that'll be eleven pents," The driver demanded. I had forgotten about the money change. Quickly, I handed him my credit card and hoped for the best. He slid it and tore me the reciete. I thanked him and walked out with Kendall to the breakfast place.
"We're dead," Is all Kendall could say the minute we locked eyes with our boss. Her hair was perfectly pinned up, her lipstick was a sickly deep red. Her heels were high and black. The suit she wore made her look intimidating, and fierce. Her eyebrows were pointed up, staring into our souls. I gulped back saliva and walked with Kendall to the small table.
Her voice was irritated, "Hello, girls, are you my new employees?"
"Y-yes, mam'," I stuttered, trying to be confident.
I heard her mumble, "Great..." She continued, raising her voice, "We have to get started, as soon as possible. I need facts, I need writings, pictures, anything! This has to be done in six months, I'm speaking of a stellar article. If I like it, good news, you're promoted, front cover, and lots of money. But, if I don't like it, well, you're fired."
