shuichi was at his desk trying to solve a case for his job,this one was especially hard,even for the ultimate detective,rantaro had been trying to convince him that this case wasn't going to be solved until there were more clues

but shuichi wasn't going to stop , he had solved many cases like this , but something didn't click with this one

"shuichi,this case is pointless until there is more clues,you've barely even slept!"

"well. i don't need sleep. i'm drinking coffee i'll be okay."

"not if you are drinking nothing but coffee"

"i haven't had JUST coffee rantaro,jeez"

rantaro stares at shuichi

"what have you had then"

"i've had monster,,lucosade..." shuichi said as he proceeded to name out caffeinated drinks

"shuichi are you serious?-"

"just trying to prove i haven't just been drinking coffee"

"you are literally going to suffer from some form of heart failure if you don't drink proper drinks like water,or at least juice,you need to start taking proper care of yourself,now stop working on that case for now,it's pointless"

shuichi didn't like the stern tone rantaro was talking in,he could feel himself slipping...

"leave me alone da-rantaro"

sh*t he almost messed up

"shuichi i will literally hide the files from you"

"i am the ultimate detective,i will find them in the end"

"stop acting so high and mighty shuichi,you weren't like that in the  k//lling game,were you?"

that hit shuichi hard

he felt smaller and smaller by the second

and rantaro couldn't tell

before he knew it rantaro had his chair pulled back and he had all the paper off of his fest and put it in a drawer

shuichi looked down with tears in his eyes,he had fully slipped,soft sniffles could be heard from the small boy

rantaro knew he had messed up

he frantically scrambled over to the sobbing little and gave him a hug

"i'm so sorry shu shu,you know i didn't mean it right? you haven't slept in ages and haven't taken proper care of yourself"

shuichi sobbed a bit louder before choking out the word "d-dada!!!!"
rantaro cradled the boy in his arms for a few seconds

"let's get you comfy okay?"

shuichi nods

" m' *hic* sowwy for *sniff* bein' mean to you *hic* dada"

"it's alright baby, i love you"

shuichi nuzzled into his chest while being carried into the bedroom

soft sniffles could be heard from the frail boy

rantaro sat the small boy down on the bed and pulled out a dark blue onsie with stars on it,he also took the paci off the dresser and gave that to shuichi aswell

once he was dressed they went to the living room and rantaro put on netflix while shuichi babbled to his plushie,

rantaro put on a disney movie and lifted shuichi up,the smaller male squeaked as he was lifted onto the taller boys lap,without hesitation he plopped his head onto rantaros chest with a small 'oof' coming from him.

shuichi could feel his eyes getting heavier as he suckled on his paci,and eventually drifted into a deep sleep with his boyfriend
