CHAPTER 5
RINDEL’S POV
To say I’m surprised is an understatement. Hindi ako makapaniwalang si Jared ang taong nasa harapan ko ngayon. He looked so different. Different in a good way. He’s gorgeous. Lumitaw ang kulay ng mga mata nito. He’s not wearing glasses. He was just good-looking.
“Boss? Are you okay?”, tanong nito sa akin.
I cleared my throat.
“Ahh, oo. Nagulat lang ako. Why are you here this early? Work doesn’t start for at least two hours.”, tanong ko rito.
He smiled.
“I wanted to get you coffee before coming in, but I see that’s already been taken care of.”, sagot nitong nakaturo sa paubos na kape sa lamesa.
“Ahh, I see. I would like to take that offer. Hindi ako nakatulog ng maayos kagabi at kakailanganin ko ang lahat ng makukuha kong caffeine.”, sagot ko rito.
His smile widened.
“Right then, here you go.”
Natawa ako.
“So what brings you here this early in the morning?”, tanong naman nito.
I smiled before answering.
“May mga bagay lang akong pinag-isipan.”
“That bad?”
“Sort of. But hey, thanks for cheering me up.
“It’s no big deal.”
I smiled. We talked a little bit more dahil maaga pa naman. I learned that Jared is adopted. He lost his parent when he was 3 years old in a plane crash. Ang tita niya na ang nag-alaga rito mula noon.
“Do you ever miss your parents?”, naitanong nito sa akin.
