Snatched

I stumbled around in the living room, expecting my ear drums to pop because of the incredibly loud music. My vision wasn't very reliable and I felt hazy. Everyone was dancing, intoxicated or spewing. My friend, Liam was the host, I felt sorry for him each time I saw a youngster puke into a plant pot. Besides that, his toxic girlfriend, Lily, always followed behind him so I did my best to avoid those two. Jake, another friend of mine, was the most annoying person-- who don't get me wrong, had good intensions-- I'd ever met. I didn't have a problem avoiding him at this party, him being drunk would be a nightmare. Anyway, my last friend is called, Tyler. A boy who is always somewhere else, he has reasons, obviously. This time it was because he had never been a fan of loud music and drunk people, neither close contact. In all honesty, he would be the only one I wouldn't mind hanging out with at this party, but he wasn't here, so tough luck for me.

The humid atmosphere let my shirt hang tighter to my body as I heard my name being called from near the back of the living room where the garden door was. The door had just slid closed, so I made my way passed drunken acquaintances and puking kids. I guess they had too much alcohol for their body to handle. Pushing past more people, I found my way to the backdoor. It had beautiful, red, velvet curtains draped to frame the wooden, sliding door. It was a shame it now had stains of  liquor, and smelt like it too. I pushed the door aside and walked out onto the fake green grass, I expected someone to say, "Oh! There you are, Cameron," but no one came out of the shadows to greet me. Was my name being called all in my head? The heavy door slid back to being closed. The garden had started to give me an eerie and ominous feeling. What was I thinking coming out here? I couldn't hear anyone around me, except the laughter and make-shift singing from inside, yet I still felt like I wasn't alone out here.

I turned around to go back in, until I heard the sound of leaves crunching. I looked behind me but, someone had pinned my arms behind my back and pushed me to the floor. "Ah!" I squealed. I struggled to get out of his grip, swaying and squirming all about as he pushed a disgusting smelling cloth over my nose and mouth. The man was too strong for me to break free of and before I could even process what was happening or what to do, my vision became blurry and I passed out.

                                                 *           *          *

My whole body ached. Rain was pouring outside as I sat on an uncomfortable, unrecognisable bed, it didn't look like mine or a hospitals. Where was I?  What had happened? All I could recall was being at a party. Did I get drunk and end up in someone house? Oh no... that couldn't have happened, I didn't drink at all. Did I? My memory was still messy and I had a terrible headache. The room was dark, the only light source I had was from the window, but even there, dark clouds had devoured the sun and overtook the sky. Green curtains were pulled across, almost covering the whole window. Wherever I was, they seemed to have something against light or just kept it dark for me while I slept. I leaned back onto my pillow. I didn't even have the closest amount of energy to get up and explore.

 I couldn't hear any footsteps or talking, never mind that, I could barely hear the heavy rain. Was the room soundproof? I could only hear my attempts at calling for help. Soon, the old wooden door to the right of the room had started to creek. My head shot to look toward the door as it slowly opened. Light peered through, allowing me to see clearer. I always thought that I dealt with stressful situations well but now I felt as if everything I had thought that were bad situations for me was like a joke. I had never been put through something like this. Was this a joke? Was Jake trying to scare me? It had to be that, no one would want to kidnap me...right? Besides, of what use to anyone would I be? A shadow had appeared outside in the hallway next to the door. Someone was outside. It looked like an average hight man who was skinny and wore a hat. Jake never wore hats... maybe he decided to wear one? I had to face it now. Jake would never do a prank like this, and for once I missed his stupid brown hair and mischievous blue eyes. The shadow stepped closer toward the room and had finally spoke.

"Hello," The voice said. His tone didn't sound peticularly friendly.

"What do you want?" I screamed, my body jerking up.

"Calm down, little girl," He responded firmly.

"I'm not a little girl," I snapped. The shadow had stepped into the room, I could see his basic features. He had a horrifying grin, one that would make you question what evil truly was. It was written all over him. His menacing brown eyes and his sharp gaze. It left me petrified. The man had walked toward me. Tears had started to form in my eyes, so I closed them, trying not to show my fear. He stood beside me, I could feel his eyes on me. I couldn't help but feel intimidated and extremely uncomfortable.
