Chapter 1: new beginings

Lucas POV
Through parenthood you learn things. You learn love, sacrifice, patience, and anger control meant, but you never give up because you have love.

I stand up wipe my hair to the side then look at the clock it says 5:30am. I walk out of my library and into my 17 year old daughters room that has big letters on the door that says Sawyer. Then I walk upstairs and walk into my 14 year old sons room. To see a peaceful boy sound asleep. Finally I walk into my other daughters room (the twin of the boy) and sees my 15 year old daughter playing on her laptop. I walk into her room and say "Caroline why are you awake ?" She says, "I just woke up I'm just getting ready for my first day of high school daddy." Ok then, says Lucas. Then I walk back down stairs and crawl into bed waking up Peyton. Peyton says, "are you just now getting to bed?" Yes. Says Lucas. "Luke you gotta stop going this!" Says Peyton. Lucas crawls over Peyton and says "well my book is finished." Really, asked Peyton. Really, I say and then kiss her.
1 hour later
Peyton and I sit on the counter and drink our coffee. When we here a beating on the stairs we look over , and say "well good morning Caroline." "You ready for your first day of school?" I say. Duh, says Caroline. I look at Peyton and say "well I better get running I have tryouts today!" Well good luck says Ashton running down the stairs all dressed and ready to go to
Tryouts. "Good luck too you too sweetie" says Peyton as she kisses the top of his forehead. Thank you, Ashton says. "Alright ash you ready to go" I asked ? "I've been ready" says Ashton.
Sawyer walks in with her really shoe shorts on and a Lacey blouse and asks Caroline "ok ready to go?" Caroline nod her head and says "bye mom love you." "Love you too" says sawyer. Bye love you both says Peyton.

Cheer practice
Sawyer walks into the gym with Caroline at her side. "Hello everyone" says sawyer. Hi sawyer says the Cheer squad. "So today we have two new girls joining our squad today." Says sawyer. "One is my sister, and the other is my cousin" sawyer tells everyone. "This is Caroline my sister." Says sawyer. "And my cousin Alison baker." They both say hi and get in the line with the other girls. Sawyer says alright girls Keyes practice when the coaches and the tryout team walk in.

Basketball tryouts
"Alright boys listen up!" Lucas says getting all the kids to be really silent. "Im coach and that's coach Scott" Lucas says as he points to Nathan."We are your two head coaches. Your assistant coach is coach James" Lucas says as he points to Jamie."In tryouts and through out the year you will be graded on your ability to play basketball, your grades, and most importantly your teamwork." Lucas the asked Nathan "do you have anything to say?" No says Nathan. "What about you coach James ?" Asked Nathan. Jamie points to a state champion sign and says "that right there I where I came from and after that I played college basketball at duke university for three years. Then NBA for 2 years as a Miami Heat player. I started here though I might not of had these people as my official coaches, but there the ones who got me here today the person Iam today and the life I have today. And they can do the same for you if you just listen to them. Then Nathan pointed to the first out of two state championship signs and said " I won that first championship with my brother and the rest of our team. Then I went to a small college basketball team just cause I made one stupid mistake. My brother and now your coach was also my coat through college he's the one who got me my first college championship and we got a lot more. After that I went to the NBA and played for the Bobcats for one year and then learned family is more important I left basketball to raise my two children." Lucas then said " I was forced to quit basketball because I was givin a heart condition that prevented me from playing so I started to coach, but stopes to raise my one child at the time. Hey Sawyer raise your hand." Sawyer looked over at her dad and raised her hand. And then Lucas said" Caroline raise your hand " she rose her hand. Then Lucas said "those are my two daughters don't touch either of them." Ok every one who's ready for tryouts!" Screamed Nathan. Yes screamed everyone !
