I present this poem to thee,
The guy that I crave.
You mean everything to me,
Ever since I saw thee.
You made my heart stop,
Made me smile in every way,
I hope that’s plain to see.
Out of all the things I wanted,
You were at the top.
I loved seeing your face,
You always made my day.
But I knew how close we were,
So our love would have to wait.
To have a better best friend,
I would find no other.
I had other friends before you,
But no one can compare.
But if you are mine, and I am yours,
The feelings would be rare.
It’s like every time I see you,
My feelings go so intense.
I hope you feel the same way too,
Because to you,
My heart will commit.
All this to say, “I can’t stop thinking of you.”
I still remember the first time we met.
And in my mind I was thinking,
“I would love for you to be my guy.”
But we were young and now I understand,
How crazy it was you weren’t my man.
Now it’s all good because we have today,
So come and say your heart will commit,
And it will be okay.
