"Oh good, it's you. Thank fuck that the Boss paired me with you. I don't trust any of those idiots to have my back. God knows that at least I feel safe with you."

He pauses, frozen mid-step. "You feel safe with me? Me? Are you sure you're feeling okay, Princess? You do know you're talking to a demon, right?"

You laugh. "Oh, shut the fuck up. We're both devils; you aren't special. I might as well give you my soul though, since at least with you I know it'll be in good hands, baby."

He takes a step towards to you, until he is face to face, and you can hear his quiet breathing. He reaches a hand up to cup your cheek.

"God, I'd die for you, Princess." He whispers gently.

"What?" You whisper, stunned.

He blinks, realising what he said and how close he is to you.

You look at him, astounded. You stand there, stunned as you think about what he said but when he doesn't take it back, you give him a blinding smile.

He isn't sure what was brighter; the sunlight streaming through the window, or the smile you just gave him.

"I'm serous, Princess. You are everything I live for. You are my home. Fuck, I'd go back to war for you." He says softly. "Shit.... I've fallen for you, haven't I?" He asks ruefully, raking a hand through his hair.

For a moment, you are violently reminded of your mentor's words from so long ago: "Dying for a reason is one thing, but to die for love is a fucking waste, kid."

You don't regret it, but god knows there will be consequences.

And god, you fell so fucking deep.

'Fuck it.' You think to yourself.

If he falls, you're falling by his side.

"Guess we're falling together then. Good thing I'll be there to catch you this time." You whisper, and as he looks at you with such quiet hope in his eyes, you think to yourself:

'He is always going to be worth it.'
