Chapter 2

(Y/N's POV)

I never knew what it was like to have a family. My kind was killed off by the people who thought of us as mindless beasts and unstoppable killing forces. We would've been extinct if not for Dr. Glenn. He knew not of my Draconite anatomy, but he managed to heal my wounds. For that, I am grateful to him and have put myself in service to him for as long as he lives. Thankfully, I don't have to sit around and guard the clinic he owns, since he teaches me the basic anatomy of other monsters and humans alike. When he is not available to treat patients, Sapphee and I take over and do the work. Thankfully, none of the patients her and I have treated, have come to fear me. In fact, they adore me in a way, the last of a dying race right before their own eyes. It surprised me at first, but I learned to accept it. Right now, it's the start of the day, early in the morning at around 5a.m. This is my usual wake up time since Draconites don't need that much sleep, at least 3-4 hours do just fine for us to be reenergized. I then head to the main clinic room to take note of supplies like how Dr. Glenn has taught me, and I find that we are running out of some ointments and medicines. I told myself that I must inform Dr. Glenn of our stocks when he wakes up before I turn the sign from close to open, thus starting my work as Dr. Glenn's assistant.

(Timeskip)

Y/N: "Dr. Glenn. It seems that we are lacking a handful of supplies when I checked the cupboards. We'll need to go to the waterway district to stock up on these specific ones." I show him the list of low supplies, which he nods in response.

Glenn: "Thank you, Y/N. If you don't mind, I would like you and Sapphee to head their yourselves, to build you two's relationship."

Y/N: "If that is what you wish, Doctor. Then I will inform Sapphee of our departure." I head up to Sapphee's room and knock thrice as she responds with a "Come in!". I open the door and peek my head through.

Y/N: "Sapphee, our stocks our low, Dr. Glenn told me that you and I need to head to the waterway district to buy supplies. I've also taken note of your low sunblock ointment supply, we'll need to buy some purified water as well." Her eyes widen before she gives me a smile and nods.

Sapphee: "Thank you, Y/N. I'll just change into my uniform before we head out." I give her a thumbs up before I close the door to let her change in peace. Once done, we make our way to the waterway district, but we need to take a boat through the canal and to the market, and that's what we just did. We sit on opposite sides of the boat before I give the go ahead to the human rower and we were off. During this time, I take in the scenery around me, the buildings that surround the channel, the clear blue water, Sapphee's beauty, and-wait...what was that last one? Ummm, never mind that last bit. 

Sapphee: "Umm...Y/N-sama?" I turn my head to Sapphee, who has a faint pink blush on her face.

Y/N: "Yes, Sapphee, what's on your mind?"

Sapphee: "Well, this is actually the first time you and I have gone out together without Dr. Glenn to accompany us. This is a new experience for me." She says while playing with her fingers.

Y/N: "I see, don't fret, Sapphee. I won't make you feel uncomfortable in any way, if it makes you feel better, we can buy something you like after getting the supplies we need for the clinic." The rower hops off the boat and waves us off since his break has started, and we do the same to him.

Sapphee: "Really? But I don't want to waste your time..." I chuckle, making her blush even more.

Y/N: "Nonsense, think of it as my token of appreciation for your help in saving me from certain death." Before she could respond, we are graced with the beauty of the Merrow Waterway District's main "square". It is a big open pool of water that interconnects to the other parts of the district. Then, a blue merman pops up from underwater and greets us.
