"Tony! Tony!" Tony Stark moved the phone away from his ear as his assistant Happy screamed into the other end.

"Jesus Happy," he said, finally returning the phone to his ear.

"Tony-" his friend's voice broke. Tony blinked, the only sign of surprise he showed as he heard Happy cry for the first time.

"Happy what's wrong?" he said, his tone a little too sharp.

"Y/n-" Happy stuttered. "They-" he swallowed. "We were on the way to the estate and-" he shuddered in a breath. "They ran us off the road Tony- They ran us off the road and then they took her. I- I couldn't-"

Tony froze. Happy's voice, the chatter between his wife and Peter- it all sounded distant. As if he was trapped underwater-

His phone fell out of his still grasp and clanked on the floor, the screen shattering on impact.

She was- his niece was-

"Tony?" He faintly heard Peppers voice as she ran to him, Peter close behind.

No, no-

"Tony, what's the matter?" Pepper asked, her voice rising with concern.

"Y/n- she's-" Tony tried and failed to steady his breath. "She's gone. Someone ambushed Happy and her on the way to the estate and they- they took her." Pepper's hand clasped over her mouth instantly. Peter- Peter froze.

His niece- his niece was-

He closed his eyes.

Think Tony, think-

His phone flashed with a new caller. He picked it up, talking to Happy again. "I'll send someone to get you," he said before hanging up and taking the call.

"Tony Stark," the voice was distorted, "I'm sure you have figured out by now that your dear niece, Y/n, is missing. I have her and propose a deal." Tony gritted his teeth and put the phone on speaker.

"What do you want?" Tony responded, cooling his voice into his usually arrogant tone.

"Watch how you speak to me, Mr. Stark. Y/n has such beautiful eyes, it would be a shame should she lose them."

If he laid a finger on her he'd rip them to shreds. "I said what do you want?" Tony asked again.

"I want back what your niece took from me."

That caught him by surprise. What y/n took from him? She couldn't have taken anything, she never left Stark industries unless she was with Happy or Peter.

Tony looked to Pepper to find the same confused expression.

"What did she take?" Pepper asked, her voice as strong as Tony's.

"Don't play dumb, it's insulting. You have until 2 am to get me what I want or the girl dies."

"Wait-" The phone hung up.

"How do we know where to give it to them?" Peter asked.

Tony scoffed. "We don't even know what they want. Baby steps kid." Tony sighed.

"Do you really think Y/n stole something so important to warrant this type of response?" Pepper asked, Tony could practically see the gears turning behind her eyes trying to piece the puzzle together.

"I don't know but either way they have her, and something tells me we'll be hearing again from them soon." Tony ran his hands over his face as if it would clear his thoughts. Baby steps... he sighed. "Call the Avengers, Pepper. We're getting our niece back."
