  Its me again, Lightningstar. This is my favorite story. I'm sure you've heard it but no harm in listening to it again.

The Making of LightningClan

     When Lightning was a young tom he always knew he was different from the other cats. He wasn't interested in living alone or digging around for scraps. He wanted to be around other cats and work together. His mother, Luna died just after he and his brother, Oliver, was born. His brother left him and went out on his own. 

   One day when Lightning was drinking water from a river he saw a silver tom on the other side. He waved his tail and to his surprise the tom waved back. Lightning tried to cross the river but he couldn't swim. The silver tom quickly swam over to him.

"Hiya there!" Said the tom.

"Hi!"

"Haven't seen you 'round here."

"Oh, I live in a cave so I don't go out much."

"What's your name?" 

"Lightning. What about you?"

"The name's Moon."

"Where do you live."

"Inside a trash-can."

"What's a trash can?"

"That's where the humans dump waste."

"What are humans?"

"Gosh kid, you ask a lot of questions. Tell you what, why don't you take me to your cave and I'll tell everything to you."

"Sure!"

   Lightning was so excited at the prospect of making a new friend. From that day forward Moon and Lightning became friends, even like brothers.

   One morning Lightning and Moon went hunting. Lightning decided to hunt near the Pine Trees and Moon went over to the river. As he was about to pounce on a mouse a couple of un-friendly cats stopped him.

"Stop! You are hunting on ShadowClan Territory."

"What? The land belongs to all cats."

"Stay out of here or else we will chase you off."

"Fine..fine I'm leaving."

   Lightning ran back to the cave.

"Hey Lightning! I caught a few minnows and big carp." Moon stopped talking when he saw his's friends face. "What happened? You look like you saw a snake."

"Its nothing. I wasn't able to catch anything. Let's just head back to the cave."

"Ok..."

  Moon knew something happened to his friend but decided to give him some space. Moon decided to gather some moss for their bedding. Lightning stayed back and dug some of the prey in the ground. 

When they went back to the cave at night Moon decided to break the silence and ask his friend.

"Lightning you've been really quiet. You haven't even asked a single question today which is a personal record. Can you tell me what's wrong?"
