there are a sound of waves as the rain falls with the sound of rowing of a boat, as three people are on it."Are you going to just sit there?" a man ask as he is rowing the boat. "As compared to what? Standing?" a Woman replied "Not standing. Rowing." the man said. "Rowing? I hadn't planned on it." a Woman said as she gives a box to a boy behind her.

he look to be in his 20s, as he has Blonde Hair with Blue eyes and fair skin, he wears a green suit vest with a white shirt under, with black trouser and green shoes, with a brown belt and a green tie.

the boy gives a awkward look on his face as he feels really uncomfortable hearing the two's conversation.

"so you expect me to shoulder the burden?" the man asked. "no. but I do expect you to do all the rowing." the woman said. to distract himself the boy took a look of the box and see that it has words on it

"and why is that?" the man asked. "coming here was your idea." the woman said. "my idea?" the man replied. "I've made it very clear that I don't believe in the exercise." the woman said. "the rowing?" the man asked. "no. I imagine that's wonderful exercise." the woman said.

"ummmmm. excuse me, sorry. but who is this Booker Dewitt?" the boy asked. "I feel like there's a big mistake and that I shouldn't be here?" he said. "one goes into an experiment knowing one could fail." the man said. "but one does not undertake an experiment knowing one has failed" the woman replied.

"are they just ignoring me?!" the boy thinks as he sighs and opens the box. he see on the top that has two things on it, one on the right is a picture of a gold angel that said Monument Island, on the left is a paper with some drawings on it, one's a image of a scroll with a x1 next to it, the other is a key with a x2 and the last one is a sword also having a x2 next to it.

"can we get back to the rowing?" the man asked. "I suggest you do or we're never going to get there" the woman said.

the boy then see some items in the box, one of them that the boy was a little worried about as it was a gun as he picks it up. "ummmm, why do I need a gun for this? I NEVER USED A GUN IN MY LIFE!?!" the boy asked

"no. I mean I'd greally appreciate it if you would assist." the man said. "perhaps you should ask him? I imagine he has a greater interest in getting there than I do."

"annnd they are still ignoring me. grate." the boy thinks as he looks at the gun and gulps, as he then slowly puts it in his pocket. he then take out a photo of a girl, on top of it has the name Elizabeth on it, his eyes widened in amazement as he blush a little. "so her name is Elizabeth. huh" the boy said as he look what behind the photo that has some writing on it that said, bring to New York unharmed. "what is that supposed to mean? unharmed? why would I even harm her?" the boy questioned in his mind as he then put's the photo back in the box.

"I suppose he does. but there's no point in asking." the man said. "why not?" the woman asked. "because he doesn't row" the man replied. "he doesn't row?" the woman said. "ummmmm, I think I can row." the boy said as there a little silence. "ah. I see what you mean" the woman said as the boy raise an eyebrow in confusion. "what?... what does he mean" the boy asked as they got to a lighthouse.

"We've arrived." the woman said. "ok?" the boy replied, as he climb up the ladder. he then looked at the lighthouse as he then see the two on the boat leaving. "shall we tell him when we'll be returning?" the woman asked. "would that change anything?" the man asked. "it might give him some comfort." the woman replied. "at least that's something we can agree on." the man said.

"So, am I supposed to meet someone here?" the boy asked. "i'd certainly hope so." the man replied "it does seem like a dreadful place to be stranded." the woman said. "well, thank you for the lift." the boy said. "what a polite boy." the man said. "indeed, do you think he'll make it?" the woman asked "It would take a miracle." the man replied as they row off.

"Ok?" the boy said as he then looked at the lighthouse. "maybe someone's inside?" he ask to himself as he walked and it he made it to the door and see a note on it. "Dewitt. bring us the girl and wipe away the debt. this is your last chance." he reads it from the note. "who ever this Dewitt is, he seems like he gotten into something bad... wait if this was meant for him, and I'm here instead of him, then then I.. gotten... into... something... bad... oh no." the boy said as he gulps, he knock on the door. "hello? is someone there? I think there's been a mistake, my name is Roland Whittingham, I think you're supposed to be expecting Booker Dewitt?..." Roland said as he then see that it's empty and dark. he then see a basin with a sign behind it that said, of thy sins. shall I wash thee. "well, good thing I don't have any sins.. I think?" Roland said to himself. he then looked around, it has empty shelves as he finds some silver eagle coins laying there.

He then head to the stairs, he see's a poster that said, from sodom, shall I lead thee. "is this lighthouse some kind a religious place?" Roland ask.

He then walk up stairs. "hello? is someone here?" Roland asked as he still looks around, he see a desk with a phone, a typewriter and some papers, he check the phone but puts it away, he then see a map of america above it with 14 pins on it. he see a bed with a radio and next to that is a small table with some books, a toy boat, binoculars and some papers. next to that look like part of something use for a kitchen as he finds more silver eagle coins.

he then walk up stairs, before going up Roland see a red hand print on the wall. "oh god, please let it be just jam" Roland said as he went up. as he made it to the top, his eyes widened in shock as he then see a man sitting on a chair with his hands tied at the back and a bag on his head as he has note that said don't disappoint us as Roland then saw blood on the floor. "oh god." Roland said as he threw up in his mouth. "I so have gotten myself into something bad, oh god, oh god, oh god! i'm such a fool, why did I have to be so curious!." Roland panicked. "ok, comedown Roland, comedown." Roland said to himself as he looked at the stairs. "oh wait." he then took out the gun however his hand trembles as he hold it as he slowly walked up stairs, he then made it to the top and see a door with three bells, he then notice some image on it that looked familiar.

"oh!" Roland then put the gun away and take out the card. "of course, these are instructions" he said as he ringed the scroll bell once, the key bell twice and the sword bell twice again. he waited, until the sky suddenly turned red as a horn noise came. "aaaaawwwww! what did I do!?" it then stop and the lighthouse start flashing red, it then stop as the red sky and horn noise came back, Roland's eyes widened in fear. then the door with the bells opened as the giant light bulb went up as the floor flip and a chair pop out.

"so, do they want me, or, Booker, to sit in this chair?.. it does look fancy." Roland said as he then takes a seat. "well, it feels comfortable, I give it that" he said before cuffs on the arms went over his wrist. Roland looks at it before he started screaming.

"make yourself ready. pilgrim. the bindings are there as a safeguard." a voice said

then a capsule closes up around him. it leaned Roland a side as the gun fell out of his pocket as it then got burned by fire as it sit Roland back up as the cuffs come off.

"Ascension... Ascension in the count of five.. count of four.. three.. two.. one.."

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Roland screamed as the capsule launch up in the sky.

"Ascension... Ascension... five-thousand feet... ten-thousand feet... Fiftteen-thousand feet..." the voice said as Roland start panicking until he saw on the window of a city in the sky.

"hallelujah" the voice said as music plays. "WHAT!!!" Roland yelled in confusion.
