The Necklace

The beginning

After a few months from graduating high school, Li Yan, an 18 years old male is off to start his new university life. Li Yan's mother was proud of him, she can't believe already her son went from a little munchkin to a full grown teenager, she thinks back to the time he was just starting school. 

Driving back from his workplace, Li Yan felt drowsy inside, he wasn't going to let him mind and body get the best of him. When he returns back to his home, as usual, he greets his mother, then made his way to the fridge to sip his favorite drink, afterwards discarding his drink.

He went upstairs to relax his mind off on his bed without even realizing the fact he was too comfy in his place and fell asleep. Shorty, after realizing He awakes himself and decides to take a shower.

He gets up and heads downstairs. as he was about to past his mother again, but his mother remain in her place and stopped Li Yan in his tracks. Li Yan was un-aware of what his mother was doing, He asked innocently " Is everything alright mom? You've been acting strange." His mother only gave a small smile and proceed " Oh. I'm sorry if I disturbed you in a bad time I've should had told you this earlier but I couldn't find you." 

Li Yan leaned against the backwall entrance of the bathroom door, " No it's fine, I'm available now. What do I need to know about?" His mother continued " Well you see, we're going to going to host a party for you going off to University,  I figured it'll be such a nice time for you, your friends and your family to come and see you while they can when you leave for University." Li Yan shifts himself for leaning against the wall " Mom, I'm not leaving away from you completely I mean, I know the place is far, however I will continue to visit you when I can, I don't want you struggling on your own when I'm gone. " His mother understood what he meant. 

She only looked down at floor, She thought to herself, 'Don't worry too much about me, I'll be fine, I want you to be happy and forget all the bad things that occur in our family ' The thought that brought pain to Li Yan's mother and her son was finding out the trouble dark history of her ( ex ) husband's not knowing what he was capable of doing to their family. Li Yan's ex father was a con-artist, He tricked people into buying useless items to steal their money then uses it for himself and refused to share and help out his family. 

He then started becoming careless about his wife and son, then decided to have another woman for himself, after once being seen in public by Li Yan's mother, She asked for a divorce, and the divorce was made to separate Li Yan's parents onto their different lives. 

The aftermath after the divorce became difficult for Li Yan's mother to work and take care of her son at the same time, that's what made Li Yan, when he was 15 years old, to start working and help out his mother.

She felt grateful and blessed that her son was willing to help her out. She looked back up and said " I know you worry so much, but it's time you start living on your own life, I want you to be happy." Li Yan had understood, he proceed his path to the bathroom to take a shower, while he was showering, he was thinking to himself 'What if she right? Do I worry too much?' ' Should I start having more time to myself?' 'But what if she can't support herself on her own? What if!? Man, I do worry too much...' His mother wasn't kidding about what she's said.

When he was finished, He went off to start setting up to decorating around their house with his mother. They were preparing the tables, chairs, drinks, food, etc. When they'd completed their tasks, they were patiently waiting for their later arrivals of their guests. One by one, one would arrive during the afternoon. 

The afternoon sky became evening, now evening was consumed by intense clatter by the people were having. Li Yan was originally sitting close by his mother, his mother noticed the fact Li Yan became after a while too shut in, so she decided to let him have some freedom with his friends. Li Yan took the offer, He was hanging with his pet: Jungkook ( a swan ), Delun ( his close friend ), and Jhope. 

Jungkook was busy munching away, Jhope has gotten out of his seat to grab a drink, Delun chatted away with Li Yan, regarding his plans after high school. " Now that were done with high school, what's been on your mind? Are you planning on leaving your mom for good? That university you're going to attend is far away from your hometown. " Delun demanded responses, Li Yan answered without no hesitation " Okay look bro, I'm not completely leaving away for good, I will continue to visit my mom when I can." Delun's face turned stun. " Man, you must be that connected, I wish me and my mom were like that...my dad always has my back though." Li Yan straightens his sitting position " Ever since what my father did, I will always be there to support her. No matter what." 

Jhope returns with the drink in his hand and places it on Li Yan's table then storms off into the other tables nearby. Jhope has a microphone in his hand and starts using it to talk to the rest of the guests at the party, "What's up people? What's up Li Yan's mom? What's up Li Yan? What's up Delun? What's up Jungkook? What's up principle? I mean sir. " Jhope dies and carries on back to Li Yan's table. 

Jhope gives off awkwardly smiles at Li Yan and Delun, Delun looks away and Li Yan gave a 'okay' glance. the party still continued on, Li Yan went to meet the rest of his guests to consume time afterwards Li Yan's mother wanted to the party to transition to dance party.

As the rest of the people started clear up and made enough room to create a dance floor. 

As the setup was done, Delun grabbed a hold of Li Yan's shoulder, He informed him " Hold on a second bro, I've invited a disc jockey ( dj ) to play some music for us. Isn't that okay with you? " Li Yan nodded. "That's alright with me." 

After piles of silence waiting for the disc jokey's arrival, he never came. The evening became night time.

Delun's face started to turn flush, he was aware of his actions. He didn't want to become the "party p**per" for wasting everyone's time. 

After a few moments of silence, Jhope spoke up and shook his head " He's not coming, dude." Delun answered " Not coming? WHAT?! You've got to be kidding! NO! It can't be! " 

Jhope started pouring salt all over his food plate. Li Yan glanced back at Delun " Well...thanks for the offer anyway Delun. But I guess he's nonattendance by now. "

Jungkook was gulping his second drink " What now? We need music." Jhope got to his feet and announced " Then if there's no entertainment, I'll bring some entertainment." Jhope brings over a music record and plays it, he was about to dance until he realized it was the 'wrong' music playing and switches the music correctly.

The rest were starting to feel dance vibes, Jungkook brought out glow sticks to light up the party in fun colors. Soon the party was "lighting up." When night time started become darker than before, the party had calm down at this point. Well.....The party is over, after all. 

A/N's note: This Is the first chapter. Now I'm unsure whether I actually did well alright. Chapter 2 should be arriving as well. What you just read is the actual beginning of the story. Throughout the story is about Li Yan's life before he has the necklace within him.
