Two weeks ago (14 days)

I finished up my weekly entry and posted it. This week I got my topic from one of my best friends, Dawn smith. She had come over for the weekend and she mentioned an article she found that she thought I would be interested in.

She was right of course. The article was really interesting. The idea that there could be other realities out there is freaking awesome! When I was reading the article I had almost completely forgotten that Dawn was there. Speaking of Dawn, what time is it?

I glance over to my alarm clock, which sits on my nightstand. 1:45, Crap I'm going to be late!

I quickly get up from my comfy rolly chair and make my way down the hall. As I'm looking around for my apartment keys, I brush out my hair, so it doesn't look like a huge rat's nest. I finally find my keys next to the stove. I grab them and head out the door making sure to lock it behind me. I make my way halfway down the stairs before realizing I left my wallet and phone in the living room.

"Ugh!" I quickly turn around and walk back up the stairs.

After grabbing my wallet and phone, I make sure I have everything, I lock the door again and almost run down the three flights of stairs in my apartment building to get to my car. I am so gonna be late.

I park my car in front of a cute little cafe. The Hugga mug cafe. It was small and looked really out of place since it was surrounded by tall office buildings. Dawn and I have been going to this cafe with our moms since we were seven years old.

The bell dings as I walk through the door and the aroma of freshly baked pastries surrounds me. It brought back so many great memories. Memories like helping the bakers with making the pastries and being cashier for the day. It was so much fun.

"Val!" I hear my name and when I turn towards the speaker, I get tackled and locked into a tight hug.

"Dawn...I can't breathe." She lets out a small laugh and lets me go.

"You're late," she says crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.

"I know, I just lost track of time." I glance down at my shoes.

"It's fine. Hey, why so serious? You know I was just messin' with ya." She smiles and places her hands on her hips.

I could feel myself smiling as well. It's been forever since we've seen each other. I take a good look at her. Her eyes are the same dark chocolaty brown they've always been and her skin was a beautiful golden tan. Man, I wish I could tan like that. Every time I try to tan I end up with a horrible sunburn. Her hair, the same dark brown I'm used to, but shorter than the last time I saw her. She has black fake nails with little silver designs on each one and of course, she's wearing an awesome outfit and absolutely rocking it. Dark blue high-waisted skinny jeans, along with knee-high black boot heels, a maroon cropped sweater, and her silver cross necklace.

"You look amazing, as usual." We link our arms and start walking to her table.

"Thanks." We get to the table and sit down.

"Is your special guest late?" I ask giving Dawn a teasing look. She glares at me while I let out a quiet giggle.

"He'll be here soon. He probably got held up in traffic or something like that." she started looking kinda nervous.

"Yeah probably. Ya know it'll be fine right? You two have been talking for a while and everything should be alright." I give her my best reassuring smile and I see her relax a bit.

"You're right, I'm worrying over nothing." she smiles and then opens her mouth to say something else.

"Wait! Donuts." I say as I catch a whiff of the delicious pastry.
