*Autumn's P.O.V.*
My alarm clock made a staticy noise. I slightly sat up to rest my head along the headboard. I looked over to my alarm clock and groaned. I could barley see through the blurriness that it was a quarter 'till five. I gasped at the time. It woke me up late. I unplugged my alarm clock and threw it in the trash from anger.
"It sucks anyways," I mumbled.
I quickly got off my bed walked over to my closet. I threw a buttoned tunic shirt onto my bed along with some cargo pants. I yanked the clothes off I had now and quickly changed into the ones I had previously laid out. I furiously brushed my hair. I put a random pair of shoes on. I grabbed my keys and phone, then ran out the door.
As I was walking on the street I turned on my phone. I had many more miscalls than usual. I looked at the call log. The only thing I could find was 'unknown number' spammed. The calls weren't even that long ago. I looked at my voicemails and found two.
"Work can wait this one time I suppose," I whispered to myself. I opened my voicemails.
"I hope my voice sounds familiar to you. I'd be careful of your actions Autumn. Listen to whatever I tell you." The first voicemail ended. I froze in panic. My finger accidentally slipped on the next one.
"Or...there will be consequences," My eyes widened. I was confused. 'It's just a voice changer. Someone's playing a sick joke on you.' I kept thinking to myself.
I quickly picked up my pace. I jogged to the building. I opened the door and ran to the bathroom. I couldn't convince myself this was a prank. The voice was familiar but I just can't pinpoint who it was. I've left everyone I knew so I could have a better life for myself which is what made it harder.
I burried my face into my hands, trying to get my breathing under control. My eyes were slightly puffy. I kept trying to remind myself I've been through worse which calmed me down a bit. An irritated knock spun me out of my thoughts. I rubbed my face as someone unlocked the door.
"What are you doing in here? And most importantly, why are you late?" A voice asked. I pushed my hands out of my face and looked forward to who was standing there. I figured only Victoria would be there but nope. Kristen, Diego, and Victoria were standing in the doorway of the bathroom.
Diego was scanning me, trying to get a clue as to what was going on in my mind, while Kristen and Victoria were waiting for answers.
"Ask my alarm clock that I threw away. Maybe it will do something for you," I sassed realizing that could've came off wrong to her.
"That explains the... shoes you're wearing," she whispered. I looked down and seen slippers on my feet. I went into a stall and locked it. I was trying to hold back tears.
"You're just upsetting her. Go back to work. I'll take care of this," Diego mumbled. Kristen immediately went back to the front desk. Victoria was hesitant to. Some time later he got her to leave. He stood outside the stall I was in. I was struggling to keep my eyes open. I unlocked the stall door only because if I fell asleep I wouldn't want to be laying on the bathroom floors. He came in then slid down next to me.
"Bad morning?" He asked. I nodded. He sat me on his lap facing him. I rested my head on his shoulder. He got up and carried me upstairs. I camly fell asleep.
I woke up in a room I've never seen before. I got up and looked out the windows, the view being similar to the one I usually seen from here. I turned around and looked at the room. It looked comforting, almost like a living room. A door connected to the room opened. It was Victoria.
"Did you sleep well?" She asked. I nodded with a small smile on my face.
"What's this room?" I asked her. She smiled.
"Your new office. Do you like it?" She questioned. I forcefully opened my eyes further and noticed more things than what I was seeing with them half closed. Silk blankets, stuffed animals, and toys. My mouth widened. She smiled.
"Should I take that as a yes?" She mumbled. I walked over to her and hugged her. She kissed the top of my head. I looked up at her.
"What do I do in here? There's no computer," I asked.
"You can do whatever you are able to do in here," she affirmed. I rubbed my pockets trying to find my phone.
"Oh, your phone. We took that away. Unless you really need it, you don't need to have it in here," she explained. I frowned at her."Besides you have a TV in here hun," she whispered. I could feel myself trying to slip. I rarely ever notice myself slipping. Probably because I don't do it often. She was trying to get me to slip, so I did.
