Her hand shook as she reached across the table for a piece of tofu, struggling desperately to pick it up gently, but only succeeding to split  it in half. she tried again. This time the tofu falling onto the table before it could reach her bowl.

"What's the matter officer? Can't handle a piece of tofu? Man, it would sure suck to have you as chief" Su's mocking voice called out beside her as Aang helped her with the food.

"Thanks uncle Aang" Lin shot her sister a dirty look before returning to her rice, but she couldn't eat. Not like this. Her chopsticks clattered against the side of the bowl as she put them down. Her hands fell slowly to her lap, only to feel another hand pressed against hers. Lin and kya stole a quick glance at each other, with Kya giving  a small smile of encouragement. Lin took a deep breath.

"I have something to tell you" her words couldn't be heard over the rabbles at the table. Unfortunately for her, Su did hear and proceeded to broadcast it to everyone else.

"hey everyone,, Lin here has something she'd like to say to us," Su said, Jumping at another opportunity to embarrass Lin. the table fell into a hushed silence. All eyes were on Lin except for Kya's, who already knew what was about to come out of Lin's mouth.Lin scowled at her sister. Damn it,Su

"what is it, Lin?" Aang asked with a puzzled look on his face, "Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong. It's just that Kya and I have been seeing each other for a while."

Tenzin spat out his mouthful of rice, a gust of air suddenly filling the room, His arms were held ot wide in shock, bowl in one hand and chopsticks in the other. "Lin! My sister?! Really?" Su's eyes were wide open, but she said nothing and sat there in shock at what she'd unleashed.

Wow, that's rough, bro" Bumi said, sliding over closer to his brother. "But hey, look at it this way, least Pema and Beifong won't be clawing at each other anymore, right?"

Tenzin shoved his brother away an dhis crossed his arms. A light chuckle from Katara drew his attention. Mom! Did you know about this?!"

I had my suspicions." she took a drink from her cup.

I already knew." Toph didn't as much look up the table, but continued grabbing things from the dishes amidst the confusion. "Caught the two myself"

"Dad! do something!" Tenzin pleaded towards the last adult who seemed to have no knowledge of the situation

"Do what? I knew"  He sipped some soup from his bowl

"Wait you guys all knew" Lin looked on, puzzled.

With a mouth full of rice, Toph managed a "guilty"

"Mom!" Her hands slammed onto the table, her gaze immediately snapping towards her mother, who remained unfazed while slowly finished her soup

"So then, Twinkle toes and Madam Fussy britches, you own me 100 yuan. My girl spoke first" Toph's hand was casually held out towards the table. Aang and Katara looked at each other, unaware that they'd both made a bet with Toph

"Alright, Dad. Fifty yuan because you didn't think I couldn't get Lin to do it."

"Kya! You bet on htis too?!" Lin turned towards the beaming waterbender beside her
