Saying Goodbye to a lifeless body

"mommmmmmmmm!!!!" I screamed as I raced down the stairs with my heart in my hands, short of breath I whispered "I got in", it was as though the plain facial expression from her dying face gave room for a small smile, but it was only of a millisecond. "honey, I'm happy for you, do me a favor and get the coasters from the living room, it seems like your brothers are always making a mess of things" my ma suffered from type 2 Bipolar depression, day after day we watched her stare into the ocean from the balcony, longing to one day belong, to one day rest, it was tough on her, my dad was barely around because his job kept him far away from home as he'd like to be, far away from my dying mama, don't get me wrong; he loved this woman ever so dearly but could not stand to see her this way, not alive but surely not dead.

I had gotten into one of the nation's top consulting law firms and stoked was far away from the excitement that filled me but that means id have to live everything I knew, my mom, my brothers, and my friends but I was rather relieved, happy to finally get away, was I being selfish? maybe I should've just continued working for Mr king, but I wanted to travel, the adventure. the experience, I wanted to go somewhere where no one knew me, why was that so wrong?

<TWO WEEKS LATER>

"you fully packed dear?" ma asked as I started up my car, I reached over to hug her as she shrugged away "I'd be back for Christmas, I promise", she had this weary look on her face "don't," she said sternly "there's nothing left for you here, don't come back" and then proceeded to head inside the house, "she loves you, you know that right?" Jeremy said as he managed to take his eyes off his phone "you know how much she loves you, it's not that easy for her to let you go" the tears began to race down my eyes, I began to regret everything, maybe I shouldn't be going but I had to make a name for myself, I was tired of being known as Mr. Walker's daughter, I wanted to be known as Caviie, end of the story. "please promise me that you'd take care of her" Jerome appeared from the back of my Honda, "we'd do our best Cavs, now drive as fast as you can, leave this damned city already".

They waved as I pulled out of the driveway, I could see ma, she stared at me from her bedroom window and waved me goodbye, this is probably the second hardest thing id ever had to do, closely followed by the time I had to pull mama's almost lifeless body from the bathtub this time last year.
