3. The Nerves To Crash A Wedding

Boruto POV

I jumped through the trees with Phoebe and Koisis behind me. The wind was blowing my hair everywhere, which just added to my discomfort with the situation. I mean my ex best friend, and ex crush, is getting married, and I am going to go crash it. I shook my arms and shoulders, hoping to shake away some of the guilt I was feeling. We had already made a plan, go in, deal with everyone and knock them out, then get out. Easy peasy... I thought.

"Boruto! Boruto!" I heard Koisis say.

"Yes?"

"We have been travelling at 120 miles per hour, we're here." He said.

I stopped on a branch and looked out, taking in the view of my past village.

"I guess Old Man managed to keep this place together.." I muttered under my breath.

"Let's go!" Phoebe yelped excitedly.

"You cat like we're going to the wedding, when we're crashing it. Ruining Sarada's wedding." Koisis said to Phoebe.

Phoebe quieted down, now feeling the weight of the situation.

"We'll be ok, trust me Phoebe. Both of you are powerful, and you guys trained me to be powerful, so I can do it!" I said, trying to pep talk us all.

We jumped down to the ground and started to walk towards the entrance. I noticed that there were no guards, which was very weird.

"Maybe the guards are at the wedding.." I said.

Suddenly 2 shinobi jumped out, kunai in hand.

"Crap!" I cursed.

They both ran at me without saying anything. I dodged the first shinobi's attack, trying to stab me in the stomach. With my speed I appeared behind him and karate chopped him in the back, you could hear the clean snap of his spine. The second shinobi came after me, he tried to slash me with his kunai multiple times, but I kept ducking or deflecting it with my own kunai. I ended up getting bored and kicked him hard in the stomach. Blood exploded from his mouth. With both shinobi laying on the ground, we walked towards downtown, where we knew the wedding would take place.

When we finally got to the place of the wedding I jumped on top of the roof, Phoebe and Koisis following.

"We are actually going to do this.." I said.

"Remember your training. Like look at your enemies, make sure you know who they are." Koisis reminded me.

I did what he said and looked closely at the crowd. I saw a few surprising things sitting in chairs near the ceremony.

"The dead hokages!?" I blurted out loudly.

Koisis and Phoebe came to sit next to me, also seeing the reanimated hokages.

"This just got a whole lot harder. If it was just your father, then you could take him, and everyone else! But this... I don't know Boruto." Koisis told me.

"It's fine. You guys are here with me, that's what matters." I told them.

I could tell they were smiling at me, even if it was hard to tell because they were foxes.

"Guys, I just wanted to thank you for everything. After I was turned into a rogue ninja... I was lost, completely lost. But you guys guided me to a place that I never want to let go of. So thank you." I said.

Phoebe looked as if she was about to burst into tears, Koisis was just nodding and smiling.

"No, thank you Boruto. Our best years of our life were teaching you." Koisis responded, Phoebe nodding her head frantically.

I gave them a sad smile, not knowing if this would be our last moment together. No. You are strong. Stronger than all of these people. You are friends with Momoshiki, and friends with Phoebe and Koisis, don't let these people take them away from you! I metally scolded myself for thinking that.

"Let's do this."
