Nursing

As usual and as promised Jungwon is the first member of ENHYPEN to wake up in the morning. He proceeds to get ready for the day before he goes through the challenge of waking up the other members. Waking them up is actually not that challenging because most of them are quite easy to wake and sometimes some of his members are already awake without his call or they get up on their own. However, two members make it especially difficult for him because they go back to sleep no matter how often he wakes them up. They are such sleepyheads.

Just like today as well, the oldest member Heeseung and the youngest member Ni-Ki won't budge from their bed no matter what their leader Jungwon does. Nonetheless, Jungwon doesn't give up - he is never one to give up anyway - and decides to wake up his hyung first because he's usually easier to wake up even if it is just a bit. After ten minutes of Jungwon trying by all means, Heeseung finally drags himself from his bed and goes through his usual routine while he is still half asleep. That leaves the maknae Ni-Ki as the only one who is still sleeping soundly without any sign of waking up.

Seeing that everyone is ready to go except Ni-Ki who is still sleeping, Jungwon tells his members to go to practice first because he doesn't want to waste any time and make the members wait. The members do as told after checking if it is really alright to go without the youngest members Jungwon and Ni-Ki. The young leader just nods and smiles at them assuringly while watching them leave the dorm.

After they all left, the black-haired male goes back to the bedroom and notices that Ni-Ki's cheeks are unusually flushed and it isn't even that warm. Jungwon goes up to the younger and touches his forehead gently just to feel a burning heat underneath his hand which immediately alarms the older. "You're having a fever," he notes concerned after checking the temperature with a thermometer and leaves the room in search for some medicine against fever and water.

Remembering that medicine should be taken after eating something, Jungwon goes to the kitchen in an attempt to prepare some porridge as that's what people who are ill usually eat. At least, that's what his grandma always does when he is sick. Therefore, he looks up how to cook porridge and tries to follow the instructions well. "I hope that it won't taste too bad, I never cooked before..." he talks to himself and tastes a bit for himself just to make a face.

"Too salty..." he sighs and adds some boiling water hoping that this can make the porridge less salty. To his surprise, it really does become less salty and thus more edible. Although he isn't fully satisfied with his cooking yet, he lets it slide for now since he has to take care of Ni-Ki first or else his fever will worsen which would be bad.

The moment he turns off the stove, he receives a call. Jungwon picks up his phone and sees that it's Heeseung calling him. "Ah, he must be wondering why we didn't arrive yet..." he realizes that he forgot to notify the others since he was busy taking care of the youngest. Without any further delay, he answers the call.

"Jungwon? Where are you guys?" Heeseung voice can be heard through the speakers of his phone. "About that... We won't be coming today. Ni-Ki is sick and I'll stay home to take care of him," Jungwon tells the other. "Oh, is Ni-Ki alright? Shall we come back and help you?" the older asks concerned. "No no, it's fine, hyung. Just focus on practice," Jungwon assures him not wanting to burden his members. He is the leader of the group, so they should be able to rely on him. "Hm... alright but if anything happens, call me right away. Okay, Jungwon?" "I will, Heeseung hyung." After saying goodbye to each other they hang up.

With a bowl of porridge in his hands, Jungwon enters the bedroom again and finds a sleeping Ni-Ki just like before he left the room. He gently sets the bowl down on the nightstand next to the bed and caresses Ni-Ki's hair softly. "Ni-Ki, wake up," he attempts to wake the younger up. Unexpectedly, Ni-Ki does open his eyes upon hearing Jungwon's voice and sits up sloppily.

"Here, eat this first. You have a fever, so just stay in bed for today," Jungwon explains the moment the other looks at him as he hands him the porridge he made. "I'm tired..." Ni-Ki mumbles sleepily and powerlessly but takes the bowl nevertheless. The older watches him worriedly and suggests, "Shall I... feed you then?"

The blonde male just nods slightly - he is too lazy to do anything at the moment - and hands the bowl back to him. Jungwon holds the bowl in his hands and scoops a bit of porridge onto the spoon. Because the porridge seems to be quite hot he blows it to cool it down before feeding it to Ni-Ki who opens his mouth readily. They do this repeatedly until the bowl is empty.

"Wait a minute, I'll get the medicine," Jungwon informs the younger when the porridge is finished. Leaving the bedroom, he takes the dishes with him to put them inside the dishwasher before picking up the medicine he left there earlier. With the medicine and a glass of water he returns to Ni-Ki.

There he finds the blonde dozing off lightly in his sitting position. Jungwon taps his shoulder gently and observes how the younger opens his eyes again. "Take some medicine first and then you can go back to sleep," Jungwon says and hands him both the medicine and the glass of water. Ni-Ki does as told and lies down afterwards.

Ni-Ki looks up to the older and wants to ask him if he can sleep next to him because he loves hugging people while sleeping but then he realizes that Jungwon might get sick too if he does which is why Ni-Ki stays silent about it. "Thank you, hyung," the blonde says instead and smiles weakly. "Just sleep. I'll take care of you," Jungwon smiles at his dongsaeng adoringly and caresses Ni-Ki's hair once again. It somehow became a habit of his to play with the other's hair and the younger seems to enjoy it too since he seeks for more.

When Ni-Ki falls asleep Jungwon leaves the room silently to bring a wet cloth for cooling the younger's forehead. He washes the cloth every few minutes until he falls asleep as well upon watching the blonde's sleeping figure.
