A friend... sounds nice.

John was awake. 12:37. It was midday, and he'd been out since the encounter with the cripple. One thing he knew, was that the John that abused his people, hid in a mask to raise his status and hurt Sera and Claire, was gone. All that remained was John.

First, he approached where he was before. He saw the body still there. "So uncivilised, leaving him here." he muttered to himself. He lifted the kid up to two feet."You alright? Can you walk?". The boy stepped back, intimidated, but John reassured him. "I was out cold, and I had an epiphany in a dream, I'm going to help you to infirmity, okay?"

"Y-y-eah." The boy feebishly mumbled.

"Johnny boy! Back to wanking off the cripples are we?" a voice said behind him. The voice of Zeke. A fist to the face, another, another. Jokers raw strength and unrelenting onslaught was within him but piloted by a more stable moral compass. Any balance should not tip purely to light, stability or good, but should allow the more pleasant side control the darker, John felt.

He began walking to the safe house, and when he reached there, he knocked thrice and opened the door.

"John, how many times, you and Zeke are ba-" Remi began but was cut off by seeing him enter. Zeke wasn't there, he had his hair gelled like he used to, and he was simply walking in, making no eye contact and with his hands in his pockets.

"I've had an epiphany, or something, can I come back in? I just want to talk to someone.

Remi simply nodded, and he sat down next to Sera.

She looked over slightly, and a face of dread appeared, and then one of confusion and then a smile.

"And what's this epiphany of tours then, John?" She said, in an unusually cheery tone. At this point anything above a series of grunts was cheery for her.

"Well I realised that first off, I've been a dickhead to my people, second off, I've been a dickhead to my freinds, or, freind, and third off, I've been a dickhead to myself." John began. Sera said nothing but a nod and an encouraging expression was enough.

"And I've just helped a cripple to infirmity, and beat the shit out of Zeke, I did stop when I was finished with him since, y'know, you weren't very happy about doing that before, I've thought about everything we've been through, what I truly feel I stand for" he continued.

"And I've been wondering, if you want to be... My friend again?

"A friend", she said with a grin, "a freind sounds nice".

"A best friend? Like before? Maybe?" He mumble out

She responded in a half joke tone "now, you're officially pushing your luck, kiddo. Sure."

He laid his head on her shoulder and they sat there all the day through.
