She looked out of her window,
Catching glimpses of what could've been.
What could've been, if she let down her hair.
What could've been, if she took two steps forward.
What could've been, if she opened up her arms.
She was engulfed in the shadow of her regret.
Footsteps of remorse, scarred the beauty of her face.
When opportunity came her way,
Fear knocked it out of reach.
Fear of getting her heart broken,
Fear of being struck down by the Lightning of Unpredictability.
The walls of isolation she built,
Became too strong.
Too strong to break down, and step out in the open.
Trapped, by her own foolishness,
Her hands banged on the walls.
Harder, and harder, and harder.
Her heart screamed out for help.
Louder, and louder, and louder.
No one heard, no one looked back.
Why would they?
All she had left to fight with,
Was the silence of her struggle.
