Sleeping with the boss

Today was Taylor's first day back at work. They had decided together that is would be good for her to have something else to think about and to try and get her life back to normal.
Her therapy sessions had been going we and they decided that's she should be okay to come back, plus joe really needed some help after he fired Amanda.

"Are you ready babe?" Joe called from downstairs.
"2 minutes"
She had been so underweight during her pregnancy that you could hardly even tell that she was pregnant a few weeks ago so she chose a light pink dress and navy blazer with heels. Most of the bruises had faded but they were still sore and she had to use some concealer to cover the remainder of the bruises.
Her makeup was very natural but overall she looked very well put together.

Taylor went downstairs to meet him and when he looked up he couldn't stop smiling.
"Wow babe. You look so beautiful"
She blushed and gave him a quick kiss.
"Are you ready?"
"Yep"

They headed to the car and drove to work.
"I'm scared joe" he put his hand on her thigh and comforted her.
"It's fine babe. Your strong"
"What if everyone thinks I'm a slut? Or if someone asks me about what happened"
"I don't think anyone would dare upset you right now. They're absolutely terrified of me babe. Which reminds me, I'm sure you remember how I act at work. I want people to be scared so try not calling me joey-bear" he chuckled.
"I'm not making any promises joey-bear"
He rolled his eyes and pulled into the parking space.

Joe could see her hands shaking as they walked up to the building and offered to hold her hand but she didn't want to look weak.
They were met by the door men who broke into large smiles when they saw Taylor walking in.
"It's great to see you again miss swift"
"You too Bernie" she smiled back.

But unfortunately not everyone was so positive.
As she walked through the doors she could feel all eyes turn to look at her. Some people wore smirks as they watch her and joe together and others gave disapproving stares.

"I need to get a new ID card. I'll meet you upstairs babe."
He nodded and headed towards the lift.

Taylor walked over to the main desk knowing that the woman would surely make a comment.
"Good morning Jenny, would I be able to get a new ID"
Jenny gave an obvious smirk and exchanged a pointed look with her colleague.
"I can literally see you so unless you want to insult me to my face you need to shut up."
Jenny was clearly taken off guard by Taylor's uncharacteristic comments but quickly recovered.
"Sure, is it swift?" She raised an eyebrow and smiled.
Taylor glared at her before replying.
"Actually no. It's Taylor Harris for now"
Jenny laughed at her before handing over the pass.

As Taylor turned to leave she heard Jenny mutter something.
"Huh so she's married but she is sleeping with the boss? I'm surprised he's kept her around"
Taylor whipped around.
"You have no idea what i went through in the last year! You have no right to comment on my life! And since my marital status seems to offend you so damn much you'll be happy to know that I'm getting a divorce as soon as the police at done questioning him about the crime he committed against me!!"

She turned around and headed straight for the stairs.
That felt really really good.
