"Wuhu, earth to Hana," a hand waved in front of my face and snapped its fingers once, immediately bringing me back to reality. Just to see Jake's face grinning widely at me, "you there?"
"I think my soul might've just left my body," I muttered to him.
"You did turn quite pale," Sunghoon agreed with me, a small frown growing on his face.
"I'm sorry, but did he just say he would watch us all dance individually?" I questioned as I slowly came to the realization of why I had zoned out.
"We'll be fine," Jake assured me with a small shoulder pat.
"I don't like this," I shook my head at him as I slowly stepped backwards, to hide behind the group of boys.
I stayed behind the group as Jungwon offered to be the first one to dance and get evaluated. Of course he was a good dancer.
"Hana," Sunghoon called out as he pushed his way back to me, "it's gonna be fine. Didn't Jake and you pester me every evening and morning to teach you two?"
"We did," I muttered in reply.
"You know the choreography, you have nothing to worry about," he assured me with a small pat on the back.
"It's not the dance that is bothering me," I shook my head at him as I watched boy after boy step up. He just frowned down at me, "it's everyone watching. I'm fine with dancing in a group... but not this."
"Just look at Jake or I," he offered and draped his arm around my shoulders as we continued watching boy after boy until he himself went up to dance.
Jake was the last one before me who went out to dance. It was clear he was nervous, and I could just feel my heart begin beating faster by the seconds going by as Jake danced.
"We think... that Jake did the best out of all of us," Heeseung stated after Niki had whispered something to him.
Jake immediately grinned widely before looking over at me with an assuring smile, and for a second I felt my nerves calm down. That was all until Heeseung called me out to dance, and I was immediately grabbed by panic once more.
I hesitantly stepped out on the floor as I wiped the sweat off my hands, by rubbing them on my thighs. I stood still and ready to dance for a few seconds, before my legs took over and rushed me out of the dance studio, taking me to the first place they thought of.
Before I knew it, I laid in the first floor lounge. On one of the couches, with one of the pillows pressed against my face, as I tried to stop my heavy breathing. What had just happened to me?
I could hear fast footsteps approach me, but I did not move one inch out of place. I did not care for whoever it was that was running towards me.
"Jake! I found her!" Sunghoon's voice called out before I felt the pillow get pried off my face, just for me to cover it with my arms, "Hana," Sunghoon called out softly.
"What?" I snapped in return. It came off harsher than it was intended, which made me immediately let out a sigh, "sorry."
"Don't think about it," he assured, "what happened in there?"
"I don't know," I sighed at him.
"Hana," Jake called out and I peeked out from under my arms to see the two boys stand and look down at me.
"I'm fine," I muttered to them before covering my eyes once again.
"You're not," Jake stated before I could feel him sit down beside my head, "now... speak."
"What?" I let out a small snort at him.
"Didn't you want to dance?" he questioned me.
"I mean... I guess I did," I muttered at him, "but not in front of so many."
"Do you know how confused everyone were?" he questioned and I hesitantly shook my head, "we damn near thought you got a panic attack."
"That would be a first," I shook my head at him, "I'm just not cut for dancing."
"What do you mean? You've done well throughout the past week," Sunghoon commented at me.
"I'm not cut for dancing. I'm a vocalist, not a dancer," I sighed at them, "there was a reason Jihye and I didn't have a choreography. Neither of us can dance."
"You know..." Sunghoon trailed off before sitting down on the floor in front of me, "I suspect that, that isn't true. I think you've got some sort of dance lesson before," he pointed out and I turned my head to look at him with a small frown as I removed my arms.
"How'd you know?" I questioned in confusion.
"You might not be able to dance this style... but when we've trained together. The three of us. The way you move and your technique, it's of a contemporary or ballet dancer," he pointed out to me, "you're just not comfortable in this style. Now, am I right?"
"I got ballet and contemporary training for my aerial arts," I admitted and he grinned in victory, revealing two small fangs.
"So in reality... you're not a bad dancer," he pointed out to me with a smug look on his face, "you're just not comfortable in this style of dancing."
"You can dance?" Jake looked down at me.
"Not that much," I shook my head at him, "and surely not in this style."
"Now... the other boys have returned to rehearsing. So I say we go into the individual practice room and practice together, just the three of us," Sunghoon offered, "and while we're doing that, we're gonna have loads of fun and practice at the same time."
"Yeah, lets do that," Jake nodded in agreement, "don't you think Hana?" he looked back down at me.
"Okay..." I trailed off at him.
"Yes she thinks so," Sunghoon stated and pulled me up, before grabbing my shoulders and walking me to the small practice room.
