Somewhere in Sydney Australia...
It's been 2 months. 2 months since I found out that quirks really DID exist in the world. Being a 13-year-old girl, just like every other kid, I've been a fan of anime. But seriously, who would've thought that THIS anime existed. When I mean by THIS anime I mean by MY HERO ACADEMIA. The anime where this green-haired boy was quirkless but then was suddenly told he can be a hero and then a quirk gets passed down to him and then he fights villains and then- Yeah- that anime.
Of course, I found out that some parts of the anime were true and others were false. There was a part where it says that 80% of the world had quirks but really, it's only 20%. I guess they had to be misleading in some parts of the anime to hide their privacy...
Anyway, 2 months ago, I found out that I had a quirk myself. My whole family did apparently. My parents just learnt how to control their quirks only to forget about them and not use them when they got older, living in the world without them.
I first discovered my quirk when I was passing by a dark alleyway.
Flashback...
It was around 9 P.M and it was starting to get real dark. As I passed by looking intently on my phone, out of nowhere I heard a loud 'BANG!'. Somehow out of nowhere, it felt like my senses turned up to 100%. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. I quickly (and when I mean quickly. I met like REAL quick) turned my head to the left and was JUST able to dodge a bullet. As it whizzed by my head, I could see the bronze bullet.
"WHOA! WTF WAS THAT! WHERE DID THAT CO-"
My thoughts were disrupted by a man in dark clothes charging at me waving his gun like a maniac. Internally panicking, unsure on what to do, I grab the wrist holding the gun and just like that, I flip him onto the concrete. I heard an "oOf!" escape his mouth as his head bangs against the concrete hard and passes out. I stare at my hands in awe.
"How'd I do that- I am NOT athletic. AT. ALL. How'd I gain that insane super strength?" I thought to myself. "It even feels like my senses are cranked to 100%. I can hear everything. Even the smallest of noises and I can see about a good 10 metres away. It reminds me of the Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni (the Medoran Chronicles is really good btw. You have to read it). Reminds of me of the Meyarins in the story-"
I decided it was best to talk to my parents about this. They'd know what's up with me.
1 hour later...
After a good earful of getting home late, my parents finally gave me the answer that I've been craving for.
My parents started their answer with a small sigh (honestly, who doesn't like a sigh before they answer a question? Note the sarcasm in there). "It sounds like you've finally discovered your quirk."
I double over. It's weird how they used the word quirk. It suddenly reminded me of My Hero Academia where they call their special abilities 'quirks'. My mum stopped my train of thought with a single sentence.
"And yes. I know what you're thinking. You have a quirk and it's meant to remind you of My Hero Academia because My Hero Academia is real."
I was shocked. "How could this be..." I thought
They gave me a lengthy talk lasting around a good 5 minutes. But they suddenly brought up another topic that surprised me.
"By the description of your quirk, it sounds like you have a quirk sort of like those who are immortal." My dad claimed, "I don't think there's ever been a person with a quirk that works like those immortal ones in the comics."
