"I'm free. I'm finally free."

Richard wasn't fazed in the slightest by the crazed look on Scarlet's face, since her words prevented him from feeling anything but rage. The poor cigar was currently being crushed by his palm that was planted tightly against the top of his desk.
"What. Did you say?" He demanded as his teeth gritted together. Richard had expected her to say countless things when she entered his office in the dead of the night. This was not it. He couldn't fathom what had triggered such hate in Scarlet.
"You know exactly what I said, Richard Davis." She spat in response, and that's when his life flashed before his eyes.
The last time he heard someone call him Richard was ages ago. Hell, at some point he even forgot that was his name. So to see his beloved daughter, his favorite one out of all his children, refer to him with that- it was bound to knock the air out of him.
His fury remained untouched, but horror brewed in him too. There was no turning back now. He couldn't do or say anything to convince her otherwise. This feeling of powerlessness against Scarlet when it had always been the other way around, was frustrating for him.
"How stupid do you have to be, to plant me right next to your enemy's son? You never thought for once, that I'd find out?"
Amusement and resentment fused together in Scarlet to create an even menacing expression. She stepped forward and stopped right in front of his desk. A twinge of satisfaction pricked her when she watched the mental breakdown that Richard currently underwent. Truly, it must be horrific to see your past bite back at you.
"Ah... John Miller. The man that gave you a run for your money. He's quite a pleasant fellow, but a shitty father- something you two have in common surprisingly."
Scarlet held the dagger up to eye it out of sheer boredom, whereas Richard's gaze bore holes into her face. His breath got caught in his throat, and for a moment he tried convincing himself that he was imagining things.
As much as it broke his heart that she talked to him this way, he also worried that she may not keep shut. With the way things seemed, Scarlet was sure to let all her siblings know of the truth, and he knew that.
"Nothing's going to happen tomorrow. There's no Davon that'll be brought to you."
Richard shot up from his seat abruptly. He didn't know what that meant, but it seemed to be far from ideal for him. Scarlet's nonchalance infuriated him all the more and he had to remind himself that she was his daughter, in order to suppress his psychotic tendencies.
