"HELP ME!"
I still remember the pain in her eyes as I watched, but couldn't do anything to save her. I was frozen. I promised myself that this wouldn't happen again, but then again promises are meant to be broken. I knew who took her. I knew where she was, and because I was too consumed with my own needs I never bothered to go and save her. Her father has a look of hatred in his eyes which only I can recognize after all I was supposed to be taken, not his daughter. The day she was taken I remember it like the backhand. I was an immature young man, and she was this golden ray of sunshine. She came up to me that same day as she normally did, and asked if we could explore beyond the hill. I normally would say no, but this time I could tell the look in her eyes of enthusiasm was enough for me to agree. Beyond the hill, we went. We came across this abandoned castle or so we thought. As we walked through the front door we went our separate ways. Outside the castle window, the town looked like a little speck of dust that you could just wipe away with a duster. The interior design was impeccable. I was intrigued by the design when I heard her scream. I tried to block out the voice when I realized it was her voice. I ran as fast as I could, and I was only an inch away when the fire had thrown me out of the castle. My memories came rushing back. I thought of the fire that killed my family and the terrified look on everyone's faces. Looking back if only I had reached my hand out a little further maybe she would be here. But I can't dwell on the past now. There will be so many questions that are left unanswered, but maybe it's just better that way.
