INFERNO.
a m. yandere dragon x f. reader story by alissabex.

a beauty and the beast inspired story, where the grimms tale gets more macabre then before.

A quiet village on the base of a mountain, far way from any kingdom. I guess you could say 'the middle of nowhere'. A town that most would've thought burned to the ground decades ago. In actuality, they had rebuilt and lived under the protection of a dragon.

With so much land, the cattle thrived in the open space. The land was also fertile and perfect for many plants and herbs. A stream of fresh water at the edge of the village, providing water, fish and minerals. It was a bountiful place that would probably be ideal for trading purposes.

But despite the practically perfect land, the winter was unkind. The temperature dropping to below zero conditions, the snow falling in thick sheets as the stream freezes over and the harsh winds strong enough to blow a house down. With the abundant amount of snowfall, the village would be swallowed up from an avalanche by now. Maybe rebuilding at the edge of the mountain wasn't the smartest idea.

But with the help of a giant fire-breathing dragon, the village survived. If they ever needed assistance and/or protection, an offering was to be made. To help fight the shivering cold, they'd offer cattle and gold so they'd be shielded in its outstretched wings. If another creature threatened the village, they'd offer entertainment and service so the creature be beheaded.

All in all, it was purely a mutualistic relationship. The dragon was no longer hunted for sport and instead was offered food and treasure for favours, and the village had a protector that wasn't a tyrant king.

The village-folk occasionally made offerings to the beast without a gain. Just incase it grew hungry or bored, a simple precaution if you will. After all, they had a few cattle and some free time to spare.

That was the tale told to the children. Along with the warnings to not journey too far up the mountain without an offering. (Y/N) (L/N) was one of those kids, your father telling you and your sister many stories about the fire-breathing beast.

Your father was the village's librarian. Ever since young he told you many stories alike, from the history of the town to stories of lands far off. Of course, your fathers love of books grew on you. Causing you to often be in a daze and far off look.

As you daydreamed about fairies and dragons alike, your sister blossomed into a beautiful young lady desired by most men in the village. Both your sister and yourself took after your late mother but, other often found you odd and distracted. Therefore going after your sister instead.

You lived a simple life helping your father out around the library, reading a few books, helping your sister in her relationship problems and so on and so forth. That was until,

HE CAME ALONG.
