During that weekend I stayed, I had realized she tried to make it a time of our lives. Emma's parents had the same job so they move a lot when a different department needed them. I had promised Emma I wouldn't get to attached to her because she knew she would move again sooner or later. I obviously broke to at promise.
The night I got back from Emma's I was pissed but heart broken because we had barley had time left together. So I thought what was point at telling her how I felt if she was leaving. We only had three months left until she was leaving.
Emma came over to give me the things I had left at her house, I realized she still had one of my shirts but didn't say anything because I knew she needed something to remember me by. I asked if she needed any help with packing she said no but she wouldn't mind some company. I stood there trying not to scream because I believed it was a sign I should tell her. Turns out she shouldn't have known. I told her I would head over at around seven thirty. When I had gotten there I went in side because I had known her well enough. Plus I already knew the garage code.
I went inside and walked up stairs. Once I saw her I knew what I had felt it was real. I had never felt anything like the way I had felt for her, she made me feel alive and wanted. She had given me a reason to live, that reason being her. I didn't want to lose her but I did in the end.
While I was over she packed as I helped when I was needed but sat around when not. I tried to find a reason not to tell her, yet couldn't quite find one. The worst thing that could go wrong would be her not loving me the same way, she was already leaving anyway. It had gotten to the point where I had to go back home soon, at that point I had just blurted out "I love you" she then said "I love you too?" As if she didn't understand what I was trying to say. I then stood up and held her face with my hands and simply said "I love you" she leaned in to kiss me but just then her parents had gotten home. She said I should go home and that she was sorry, I whispered that it can't end like this then left. I got home and went to sleep wondering if I had a future with Emma.
The next day was confusing and complicated. I wasn't sure what to do. I had school so as I headed there in the morning. Once I had gotten there I had seen her across the hall. She waved me over and as I walked I wondered if she would act like last night didn't happen, or if she still wanted to be friends for the three months we had left. Once I caught up to her she explained how she didn't want what we had to end either, but she sadly didn't have a choice. She told me how her parents expected her to be an amazing role model in case they had another child, she stated they would be speechless if they found out she was dating a girl. She said that it was her last week at the school so she had more time to pack. I wanted to ask if she needed any help that night but the bell rang and we had to head to class. I decided to ask her at lunch.
Thankfully lunch came around fast, after five minutes of looking around for her, she found me. "My house same time as yesterday" she had told me. My heart dropped, she asked, "ok?" I replied with a nod because if I opened my mouth I just knew I would say something stupid.
Once I got to her house her parents were leaving. I went inside and saw Emma eating grapes in the kitchen, she offered grapes I said no because I had just eaten. She had then told me she had something important to tell me as she leaded me to her room.
She had told me she had loved me as well but that we would have a complicated relationship. She looked at me hoping I wasn't joking about the other night, but I then smile and say it's ok if we can't be together I just needed you to know. After that all I remembered was we were leaning in to kiss each other. As we slowly got closer the more close we got the more I thought what if we were soulmates, then my heart made me think fuck soulmates, we loved each other and that's all that mattered to me. Our lips had finally touched, kissing for a few minutes until her parents ruined the moment once again. They had called Nora had asked if I could stay over and her parents had not cared, I was thrilled that I could stay. In excitement we kissed again but more passionate, it felt amazing to feel the warmth of her body. By the time her parents had gotten home Emma and I were out getting food, once we got back to Emma's house we fell asleep talking to each other and passed out in each other's arms.
In the morning we drove to school together, and after we had parked we promised not to say anything about "us" not knowing If there was an us. We had a long day but we had each other at the end. Emma drove me back to her house so I could get my car. After I got home me and Emma talked for hours. We stayed up in the phone until at least two in the morning.
I missed her every second of everyday, she made life feel like a dream. After we hung up I had trouble falling asleep without hearing her voice. The week went by with me and Emma kissing each other whenever we got a chance alone, thankfully we never got caught.
Friday came fast and there was a going away party for Emma. She begged me to come and I finally caved in and said yes. We went together but went in at different timing so it wasn't obvious we were dating. She had spent most of the time talking to one of her friend groups and I spent most of the time trying to act as normal as possible. Once the party ended and Emma had danced her ass off I took her home, we had kissed each other goodnight before she went inside. That night we didn't call only because we were both tired and Emma's phone needed to charge.
By the time I woke up Emma had called but had only been a few minutes ago so I had called back. When she answered she told me she wanted to tell our parents. She then proceeded to say that if they weren't happy for us we could run away together. I laughed at it but she had been serious. We talked for half of the day discussing the pros and cons, the other half of the day was convincing our parents to have dinner with each other.
It was the night Emma and I were gonna tell our parents and we were both nervous. After everybody had finished their food Emma whispered in my ear "I think its time" I had nodded my head and immediately stood up, while standing sets of eyes stare at me. Emma stands up as well with our hands holding each other's, our parents stare at us looking very confused. My mom says she very proud I was confident enough to tell her how I feel, but sadly Emma's mom laughs as if we were joking. Emma was angered by it and said clearly "it's not a joke, I love her more than you ever loved me" Emma's mom stares and says she doesn't believe us and that Emma shouldn't say things she doesn't mean. Emma faces me and kisses me gently, her parents both grew frozen. Her dad stood and told her "home now and no excuses" Emma kisses my cheek and tells me quietly "this isn't the end" my stomach swarms with butterflies as she walks away, I was tempted to run after her but I didn't want to anger her parents anymore than they already were. Her parents had told Emma they were moving sooner because they didn't want her around me anymore. I told her not to worry and to keep packing. I had no plan. I knew that I loved her and at that moment that's all that mattered.
