Nova watched as Corpse lugged the last couple boxes containing Nova's personal items into his apartment—well, now their apartment. The purple-haired girl still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she would be living with Corpse for now on. Not that it was a bad thing, of course, but it definitely would be different. Nova didn't know how she would react to living with another person after living alone for quite a while. At least it's Corpse, Nova thought. I could be moving back in with my parents. At that point, I think I would rather die.

With a huff, Corpse set the three boxes in his arms down on the wooden floor. After relieving himself of the heavy boxes, Corpse stood straight and wiped sweat from his forehead.

"I told you I should've helped you," Nova tutted, opening the flaps of cardboard to unbox some items.

"Nah, I'm a big strong man. I can do it," Corpse said confidently, pausing his hard breathing and acting like he didn't break a sweat from the whole ordeal.

Nova softly laughed, grabbing a pot and storing it away in the appropriate cabinet in the kitchen. And, as the two worked on unpacking Nova's many items, silence fell over them. Which was good at first to Nova. I should appreciate every second of silence I can, Nova thought. I won't get much with Corpse streaming and recording all day.

But then, after a while, Nova's thoughts enroached. It hit her as she was putting a few articles of clothing into a dresser in Corpse's—no their—bedroom. I'm never going to live in that apartment again. My home is gone. The home where I grew up the most, finally away from my parents.

The revelations destroyed her to the point where she couldn't find energy to unpack any longer. So, Nova sat on the bed and stared at the floor for a couple minutes, undisturbed by Corpse who worked on unpacking more of Nova's kitchen supplies; she had a lot.

Then, at the sound of Nova's sobs—which came after ten minutes of nothingness—coming from the bedroom, Corpse entered the room slowly.

"Nova...? Are you okay...?" Corpse asked, not wanting to step over any boundaries.

"No," Nova choked out between sobs as tears ran down her face, which she had covered with her hands. Corpse sat on the bed next to the girl, staring at her with wide eyes. "I-I don't know. It just hit me all at once. Like, I'm never gonna go back to that apartment. I—"

Corpse shushed Nova, pulling her back to lay on the bed. Then, he settled next to her, pulling her into his arms. She let out another sob. "Hey, hey. It's okay."

And, as Corpse held Nova while she broke down, she realized that she would no longer be alone in the world.
