In the 17 years of life I have so far, I don't remember enjoying any types of parties whatsoever. Maybe as a child, but let's face it, playing tag or hide and seek with your neighborhood friends, pinning the tail on the donkey, jumping uncontrollably in a bouncy house til you throw up and even then decide to go back in and give it another go, and last but not least, eating sweet and savoury birthday cake. Those were parties. But now, everyone has replaced everything, instead of tag or hide and seek everyone can't get enough of spin the bottle or beer pong, instead of pinning the tail on the donkey we now have pinning private body parts to a extremely attractive male or female, rather than throwing up inside a bouncy house we throw up in crazy parts of a house due to too much alcohol, and even more sadly, everyone prefers to get a different slice of cake...if you know what I mean.

Which is why I'm not too excited when my friend Ashley blabbed on and on about a house party she got invited to during lunch. "C'mon guys! It'll be so much fun showing up in our bomb outfits, making an intro when we walk in, and if we get lucky, meet some people" she suggested bouncing her eyebrows at the end. "I'm in" Damon said without a thought resting his elbows on the cafeteria table. Of course he'd be on board with the idea, that's his thing, being such an outgoing person. "I'll go too" said Nick. Again, not much of a surprise, he wouldn't miss out on a single party or gathering he gets invited to. "Let's do it" Harry spoke up. After that, I was the only one left in our group of friends who hadn't said yes. I knew I wouldn't be left alone unless I said yes right now, and to have the 4 of them on my back trying to convinve me for the rest of the day was a definite no. I sighed and looked at them, "fine, count me in" I lightly groaned.

They all cheered and began making plans, apparently Damon was going to Nick's house and from there they would go pick up Harry at his house, but not before 8 because Harry's parents would be awake at that time. Naughty, I know. But that was Harry, and Damon and Nick wouldn't be left behind if they had more strict parents, which I guess is a win for the both of them because who knows what type of relationship they'd have with their parents, knowing how they're snarky and back talkers. Harry on the other hand is a sweetheart yet has his own secrets himself. "So what's the plan" Ashley looked at me snapping me out of my thoughts. "I don't know, what works best for you? I stay home alone after 7, Sage is starting to go work a bit earlier than usual." I said. "Well my parents are going on a family trip to visit my aunt Thelma in Colorado, the only reason they aren't taking me is because they don't want me missing school, especially since I told them I have 2 exams for today and tomorrow" Ashley said with a sly smile on her lips, a bit proud of herself for getting away with missing out on the trip. I rolled my eyes while shaking my head, classic Ashley. "Their flight is at 4 so by 2 o'clock they'll be long gone, which means we have enough time to get home, eat and go to the mall" Ashley squealed.

I raised my eyebrows taking a sip from my water bottle. "Why do we have to go to the mall?" I asked. "Jade, what part of bomb outfits did you not get?" Ashley said rolling her eyes. "Ash, we have cute clothes we can wear, we don't have to go to the mall just for some stupid house party a senior is throwing" I said matter of factly. Ashley gasped holding her hand to her wide open mouth, "Jade! He's not just a senior, he's the it guy in this school, y'know, the jock, the cool guy, the popular guy, the Ken to a Barbie" she listed. "Ashley, he's nothing but a hot looking dude in a high school that everyone bows down to" I said shaking my head. "Maybe because he is, just like you said, a hot looking dude" Ashley said using finger air quotation marks. I sighed annoyed already, "yeah whatever-" I started but before I could proceed I was interrupted by the bell marking the end of lunch. We all said our goodbyes, each of us walking out of the cafeteria. "I'll text you the plan for later" Ashley hollered walking the opposite direction from where I was going, I shouted out a simple "kay!" and walked to my math class.
