" Welcome, Lady Echethier." A maid bowed down, leading Adele inside the Duke's Mansion. Admiring the big portraits of Great Leaders, she mused about the thought of her being in one of those big portraits.
" Wow.." She managed to breathe as the Maid led her to a big room full of delicacy. A golden chandelier hung above a desk with ink and paper. Then there was the big closet full of clothes, unimaginable what a noble life was like, it made a queasy uneasy feeling for her.
" Remember Adele, you're doing this for your father and for you, to fulfill your dream." She spoke serenely to herself. A chill ran down her spine as a few maids passing by, glared at her through the unclosed door.
" Well then, i shall take my leave, Lady Echethier." Pausing for another bow, she nodded. " Maids will later come in the morning to dress you up for Breakfast. You will dine with the Duke later in the Evening" And with that said, she closed the door.
Adele sat down on the comfy chair and laid her head down on the beautifully carved desk, drawing pictures on the window with her breath and only a finger.
" I miss home already. It never was this somber." She whispered soberly. " Maids already hate me, it's dull, no one to talk to at all.." Finally stopping, she changed into a nightgown, spun around, and then faced flat on the bed.
" I hope I won't regret life here, because I have a way of changing things around here," She smirked, with a sharp wickedness beam in her eye. " Because it's time to change the atmosphere to a rather wicked one, one where i rule."
" After all, I can only survive in this household by being a Villainess. But that doesn't mean i can't solve mysteries while i'm at it." She rolled around. " A good mystery can only be found in Peculiar places and i know a lot of trustworthy suspects for murder or treason."
She tapped her chin, pondering about worthy targets. " Let's solve some mysteries now, shall we?"
The next morning, Adele was already up. Last night had been tiring for the Journey or Trip to the Duke's mansion and had taken a large amount of time. She groaned, rolling around until falling down the soft downy bed.
Distracted in thought, she got up and continued rolling around, messing the room here and there. The maids wouldn't even want to come in if they saw the mess she made. Adele had read many books about crime and treachery.
She read books about nobles, aristocrats, merchants, the royal family, in curiosity of all these subjects linked to crime. And all of them had something interesting: If they had committed any kind of crime, they were never caught due to their Fake-Evidence-Defences or Statuses.
She had taken note of this. It was easy for commoners to get caught with these crimes, but for other high-ranking people? It was easy to get away with it. Moving on, she had read about the duke while on the trip.
He was someone with a stone-cold face, Silver hair ( Not the kind of one because of old age), pale skin, and Cold-hearted personality. He was the kind of person that was atrocious in war, but calm and stone-hearted in social life.
