...

I was in my English class staring out the window watching as the raindrops fell to the ground thinking about that night with Vinnie how we watched the sunset and stared at the stars, how he kissed me so gently with his soft hands placed on my cheek. It all felt like a dream, like a beautiful sweet dream. But like all dreams, we wake up and I woke up once I left the car and watched him drive away. He is a dream that I never want to wake up from.

As the class bell rang I grabbed my stuff leaving the class and heading to my locker. The girls haven't talked to me since I practically ditched them at the mall and didn't answer my phone, I tried to make up some lame excuse but they didn't believe me but it's not like I can tell them the truth they would be more upset at me then they already are. After all, I never really lied to them before and they don't lie to me even though sometimes I would rather that they did.

"Hey, where's your little friends that you're always with?" I hear Sabrina ask standing next to my open locker, she's in most of my classes, and she's my neighbor, I knew her since I was little but I haven't really hung out with her in a while since I'm always with Molly, Bella, and Sarah and they don't like her.

I give her a soft smile before answering "They're currently not talking to me right now" I say closing my locker

"Thank god, I did not like them, you deserve so much better friends than them," she says with a sigh of relief and I giggle at her response earning a laugh back from her

Sabrina used to be in our friend group back in middle school but once we got to high school she said she was done with all of the toxicities from them. She was known as the prettiest girl in our group in middle school with her long wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, smooth clear skin, and perfect body. Which Molly, Sarah, and Bella did not like so they started body-shaming her and pointing out her insecurities which really affected her and caused her to have major depression and I tried my hardest to make her feel better. I feel like my biggest regret is not leaving the friend group like she did

"Well I'm guessing you need a ride home, so I offer to give you a ride but you can't say no so technically I'm just gonna give you a ride home whether you like it or not," she says grabbing my hand dragging me out of the school with her. I missed her so much she was my only friend, my only real friend, the only person I could trust with my darkest secrets or with any secret for that matter.

We get into her car and she starts driving "I've missed you" she says turning to look at me.

"I've missed you too," I say softly looking back at her as she gives a small smile then looks straight at the road, I have to admit these couple of days without the girls felt pretty nice.

"Why aren't they talking to you right now?" she asks stopping at a red light not looking over at me.

"Because I ditched them at the mall and left without telling them and I didn't answer any of their calls or messages when we were supposed to go to a party that night and I wasn't home" I answer truthfully causing her to give a small laugh.

"When did this happen and why exactly did you do that?" she asks looking over at me for a second then back at the road to continue driving.

I stay quiet for a second not knowing if I should tell her the truth or not "Sunday and because I just wanted to leave to go read somewhere quiet I guess, I don't know" I lie.

She nods her head "ahh Sunday, ahh I mean yeah I guess it's quiet in a cute guy's car at midnight" she says with a huge smile plastered all over her face.

I quickly look over at her with wide eyes "how did you-"

"I was outside when I saw you leave his car, you know after you guys had that kiss," she says cutting me off.

I blush with embarrassment "oh" I say softly

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone, your secret is safe with me" she says giving me a joking wink causing us both to laugh.

"Is that Jordan's car outside your house?" Sabrina asks as we get to her house which is literally right next to mine.

"Fuck" I whisper then quickly look at her "you have to hide me in your house until he goes away," I say putting my hands on her shoulders

"Okay, just run to the back and I'll open the back door for you," she says and I do as she says quickly leaving the car and running to the back in hopes that he doesn't see me. I stand in Sabrina's backyard impatiently waiting for her to open the door

I hear footsteps come from behind me and I quickly turn around to see nobody, my heart starts to pound and I take two steps back bumping into something or someone, I go to scream for Sabrina when I felt someone cover my mouth and breath on my hear

"Shh princess it's just me" I hear Vinnie say as he trails the back of his hand on the side of my head playing with my hair.

My heartbeat starts to go back to normal, I turn my head to look up at him "why are you here" I ask softly

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay," he says looking at me with worry as if my life is in some sort of danger

"What's that supposed to mean," I ask confused still staring into eyes

He shakes his head "nothing" he then says, we the back door start to open and he quickly kisses my cheek "I have to go" he says then leaves before Sabrina was able to see him

I give her a small smile then enter her house "sorry Jordan started talking to me asking where were you and shit" she says closing the back

I just nod and follow her upstairs to her room and lay on her bed next to her "do you believe in love at first sight" I ask her staring up at the ceiling already expecting some harsh answer about how you can't love someone just by looking at them or that love doesn't exist but instead I got a completely different response

"Yes"

"Have you ever been in love"

"Yes"

"Do you still love them"

"yes"

"Does he love you"

"No"

"What's his name"

"Her name is Nessa, Nessa Barret"
