The Routine

Waking up for Jake Dennis was a six step routine ever since he started middle school. First of all, he had to wake up which he never really did until a half hour had past since the alarm rang, next was the shower his formidable foe the cold water was like an Antarctic wasteland to him even though it never went lower than 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

After a ferocious battle with his foe he would get dressed which you might think is the easiest thing in the world that you live in, but to him it was the 24th century and machines did everything for people these days all you have to do is press a button and "ta da!" You're done, but his mother wasn't very trustworthy with machines ever since that day.

Later it was time for breakfast "the most important meal of the day"or so his father would say, when he got to the kitchen his mother was making waffles "Good morning sweetheart, I'm making your favorite." His mother said in a charming tone in her voice, "Good morning, mom." He replied in a grumpy mood "where's Dad?" He asked, "in his office, he's been working on a new project, he says 'its going revolutionize the world as we know it.'" She says in a sarcastic manner,"Do you believe him?"

"I don't know sweetheart, your father has created many different things that has helped this world in more ways than one, he says that this one is different. He says that this one is going to revolutionize the way we view our history. " she says.

"Well I hope that doesn't turn out horribly wrong. " Jake says in a sarcastic manner. Afterwards he brushes his teeth and is of to school.
