*Afternoon*

"OMG, BETH!!", Cassie exclaimed. Her reaction was no surprise. She had been talking about this nonstop ever since she had heard of it in the radio. Plus, she was very predictable. Cassie is my sister and she has supported me since forever. "I can't believe you were actually chosen.", she shrieked.

"I know right, I'm happy I signed up. This is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.",I said.

I had gotten an email from an unknown person a week ago. At first I had thought it was spam but after Cassie assured me that she had seen this on boards around our town, Shallow Peak, and heard about it on our local radio, I thought about it for a few days. I was still skeptical about it but filled in the form. I mean, what's the harm in signing up, you don't even have to pay for it.

The email was sent out to our town only, suspicious but I let it slide. Apparently, there was a competition taking place on a private island near the Caribbean, the competition was of challenges where the contestants had to survive. If you failed, you would lose. The prize money consisted of 3 million dollars and a special surprise gift. This was the only information given.

"Well...you're going to have to pack a lot considering you're going to be there for a whole month. Oh, and please wear that new bikini I bought for you, it cost a lot.", Cassie ordered.

"You know how uncomfortable and conscious I am when I wear that. I've been trying to avoid it for a reason, so no. I will not pack it", I answered. She shoved the horrible clothing in my arms, smirked and went to get my luggage. I stared at the back of her head, "You little-", an insult at the tip of my tongue.

"You'll thank me later", she said, putting the luggage on my bed. "When are you leaving though?"

"Tomorrow.", I stated, taking my clothes from my cupboard and placing them in the luggage.

"Wow, that's a short time. Why'd you get the email last minute?", she enquired.

"I don't know, I probably saw it late or maybe a contestant cancelled going and they had to choose someone else?", I guessed. Cassie nodded.

*Night*

After we finished packing and eating dinner, we got ready for bed. I was too giddy to sleep and so was Cassie, we decided on staying up for a while and chatting to calm my nerves. We were up till 2 in the morning. Eventually, Cassie got tired and went to sleep. I laid down, staring up at the ceiling. Many thoughts and questions clouding my brain until I eventually got tired and went to sleep.
