Chapter One - Controversial Ride With Marco Stevens
"Why!" I screamed at Melissa Robertson. I slapped her. It might have looked a little too hard but no, it wasn't. It made a sound though it was light. Her jaw dropped to the floor and I placed my hand on my mouth as if I was in shock. "Oh, I'm sorry. That's what you get for being a piece of crap."
And with that, I walked away like a boss.
Everybody clapped their hands, even the other people are shouting the cast's names. Finally, the six weeks of practice and the nerve-wracking rehearsals before a performance were over. God knows what I feel. Well, I love theater. But I'm just tired. Four shows in three days. Won't you get tired? Well, I do.
"That was great, Kath!" everybody congratulated each other. There were hugs, kisses and, well, talking. I thanked everybody for saying such good compliments to me. We tidied ourselves once again and got of the stage in a straight line and faced the crowd. I gave the audience a real smile and as far as I know, some of the cast are plastering their celebrity smile. Big, fake and perfect. Our director popped onto the stage with a proud smile on her face.
"Wow. That was one of the best stories I have directed and created," Czarina started and smiled. "These amateurs and beginners are joined together to make this performance very fun and mind-blowing. We have practiced for six weeks and these students up here did very, very well. I am proud and thank you everyone for a very active support!"
Just like we practiced over and over again, we bowed after Czar's small speech. Everybody clapped again as we untwined our hands. The curtains closed indicating that the show was over as we gave the audience our thank yous and fying kisses. Finally, this theater thing is over.
"Hey, Kathryn! You did really good! Cecilia's character fitted on you so well. Congratulations!" someone was exaggerating. I turned around and realized it was Bailey Josson. She's a close friend of mine. She's the cheerleader captain at school and she's not like any cliché cheerleader. She's super nice and so is her clique. Well, except Gwen Richards. She's this new girl last year from Europe somewhere who moved to the States. On the other hand, Bailey is very nice. She's bubbly and likes to talk to people. She's not choosy if who she wants to be friends with. She just goes with flow.
"Oh my gosh. Thank you, Bailey! The hard work for that performance will forever be in my mind!" I said as she laughed and hugged. She whispered something along with the lines you did well as I thanked her even though I was unsure of what she said.
She looked at me and smiled sadly. "I'm sorry, I have to go! See you on Monday, okay? You better come to school on Monday!"
I nodded and waved goodbye. Of course, I'm coming to school on Monday. I'm the student council president after all. And I think we're having a meeting. Oh, God. Never mind about that for now. After all the picture taking at the entrance with teachers, students and 'fans' (which I laughed at when Mr Haslanski said it), I went straight to the parking lot to, well, drive my car and go home. And man, am I not shocked when I saw Marco standing near my car and texting. I'm guessing he sent the text and now he looked up and found me and I swear to God he kinda smiled. Does this dude like me?
