Headcanons

Erwin was born the son of Zeke Yeager, but was adopted by a Smith before his father vanished and his mother died. For forty years he lived without the knowledge of who his real father was. Making Eren Yeager his Uncle/Aunt [depending on Gender Bending].

Erwin survived the beast titan's siege instead of dying. Instructing levi to give Armin the serum to heal. Where he suffered heavy damage from the boulders Zeke chucked at him and his men. Crushing his leg in the prosess leaving him forcibly retired with the inability to balance right, and he has to use a cane to walk around making him a venerable target compared to what he used to be.

Outside of being a leader, Erwin takes time to get to know Eren. Treating him/her more like a daughter than a scout. Orphaned much like he was it made him feel close to the titan shifter. Being protective enough to actually go back and rescue Eren Yeager with only one arm. Eren is important to Erwin in both sense that he is a boy he could relate with much like with his subordinate, Levi. And the fact that he could save the world with his abilities.

Erwin has a habit of hiding how he truly feels. Reminding himself always that sharing your emotions was a sign of weakness in a fight. In which he almost always tucks down his emotions deep within himself to keep a calm and collected outlook for his scouts to look up to. But there are times where thoes feelings could slip out. Much like charging Zeke in the front lines. And rescuing Eren from Burtolt sharing anger when he sliced through him to get him free.

He has moments in fights where everything will stop for him. Shellshock takes hold and it makes him seem like everything is normal despite everyone around him is dying to protect him.

He can't cope well with loss. Losing one too meny men in his life he became almost numb to it. Watching Levi cut through a titan because he lost his friends. Instead of consoling him he told him a memorable lesson in it.

Much like Eren he despises Titans. But not as much as he despises titans who have conscious minds, like the beast titan, and the other titan shifters who wished harm on the human race. To where Levi swore for his sake that he will kill Zeke.

Erwin has a deep respect for Levi. Perhapse even having romantic feelings towards the short subordinate of his. Talking to him differently than he spoke to his scouts.
