Hoseok sits down on the sofa, watching Taehyung and Yoongi play together. Taehyung has been here for two days now, and there's been very little contact from Seokjin, his father. Hoseok has been in charge of taking him to school, bathing him, making sure he's okay, feeding him. He doesn't have any other choice.
The day after the incident happened, Hoseok went to the hospital again. Seokjin was calmer, but his face was still a pale white, and it was clear he hadn't slept. All Hoseok had gotten from him was that Jimin's brain was 'melted', but he wasn't told a reason why, and he needed some answers if he was going to be a temporary father to his eldest son.
He was sad to see that Jimin didn't look any better. He had been moved into a child's bed, so he at least looked a little bigger, but he was still tiny when swamped in so many tubes, wires, machines, and monitors. He was still intubated, and still pale himself. Seokjin's eyes had never left his face when Hoseok had come in.
Seokjin spoke a little more, this time round. Hoseok found out about how Jimin had gone into one of his seizures, but wouldn't come out of it. Seokjin had called for an ambulance, but the sedatives wouldn't stop him, and soon his brain was seizing by itself. Although the hospital finally got him to stop, the bad electricity changes, and the lack of oxygen caused damage to his brain.
His brain activity was low, and he won't be able to heal from it. The doctors can't place just how bad it'll be. He could go back to almost normal, with just a couple of issues, or he could be in a vegetative state forever. He could die, and for Seokjin, he won't know until the doctors try and bring him around.
Seokjin had asked Hoseok not to tell Taehyung. He was six, but it's still too young for him to really be able to understand the situation. Hoseok had agreed, but when he picked the two up from school, he could see the deep worry in the boy's eyes, and the anxiety in his general tasks.
Seokjin had given him the keys to his house, so he let Taehyung go and pick up some things. He made sure he went in first, and saw the blood stained pillow on the floor, medicine packets, and marks in the carpet where the stretcher ran over it. He hid them all away quickly before Taehyung could see, and helped him pack his favourite things.
He had to give some sort of answer, though. When they got back, Hoseok had knelt down to the boy's level. "I know you're worried, honey. Daddy will be home soon. You see, Jimin had one of his poorlies, and needs a doctor to make him better, and daddy needs to stay with him."
Taehyung's eyes had gone watery. "He's in hospital?"
Hoseok swallowed. "I'm afraid so. He can't have anyone coming to see him, in case he gets too excited and gets poorly again. Daddy says he loves you very much."
Taehyung had been very quiet for the rest of the day.
It's the day after that, and Hoseok can tell his mood hasn't really picked up. He plays well with Yoongi, but he didn't eat much of his breakfast, and he's being very whiny, looking for an argument. Looking for attention. Taehyung needs his dad, but there's nothing Hoseok can do. There's nothing he can do to make Jimin better, or choose when the doctors will try to wake Jimin up. All he can do is care for him.
"No, look, my cards won, because I have more points than you do, Taehyung! That means I win!"
"No," Taehyung pouts, his face frowning. "I win, 'cause I said so!"
"But you can't win, because my cards got more points than yours, and that was your last card! I won fair and square, Taehyung!"
Taehyung reaches forward and snatches the cards out of Yoongi's hand, scratching him in the process, then gives him a harsh shove. Yoongi falls back, and instantly starts to sob, looking up at his dad for support.
